My name is Ty Brandt. I am a barbell coach. I'm currently en route to becoming a Starting Strength coach. I've read the literature, been to seminars, and am currently studying physiology, anatomy, and physics as it relates to barbell strength training.
I use a linear progression training model based around the four main barbell exercises: the squat, the deadlift, the bench press and the overhead press. I can accommodate trainees with almost any mobility issue.
You will quickly find that there is no reason to be intimidated, even if you've never worked with barbells before. I'm a very calm person and there is nothing that would be considered "extreme" about anything I do. Please don't let the pictures mislead you.
I offer one-on-one personal training services. When you train with me, you have the full support of an experienced coach who is dedicated to your personal progress.
You will be placed on a linear progression training program according to your goals, abilities and experience level. We will make respectful progress at every single workout. I will teach and monitor form and technique constantly throughout our time together to evaluate both program effectiveness and safety.
Maximum effectiveness from this program comes from a 3-day per week training schedule. Great results will still be achieved on a 2-day per week training schedule. If you would like to work with me 1-day per week, you will still be expected to follow the programming and train on your own for 1-2 more days per week.
Many clients come to me with various needs and goals. Most clients also have an assortment of health issues that they would like resolved. At the core of these issues is a lack of muscle mass and strength. This issue will be addressed very early in your programming. I will teach you the best ways to train strength properly, and we will build you a foundation of strength and muscle mass.
I also offer online coaching services. This includes programming, form checks via video, and direct answers to any questions you may have.
Finally, I offer clinicals. Clinicals are one-time in depth instruction of the most important strength training movements. Clinicals are popular among clients who are unable to train with me on a regular basis, but want to learn the movements in depth so they are well equipped to perform them correctly on their own.
