Bowtai Fitness LLC. is a fitness and nutrition coaching company that creates personalized training and nutrition programs for all of our clients to help them reach their individual goals. We provide our services at District Barbell, a private training studio in the Fairfax/Merrifield area that gives us the flexibility to use different training methods to cater to different types of clients and goals.

Working with Brian has been my best experience with a trainer. He provided me the knowledge of properly working out and dieting. Was always available when I had questions about what to do and things I was struggling with in the gym. What I like most about working with Brian is he takes time to sit with you and discuss goals and what you want to accomplish. With his training program I was able to look great at my wedding and continue to maintain it all. Only trainer I will continue to go to. More...

Brian is awesome. I’ve worked out with him for a few months, and he taught me SO much in a relatively short time frame. Bowtai fitness is the cutting edge leader in our area for hypertrophy, programming, injury prevention, and weight loss. He is very easy going, positive but at the same time very knowledgeable and can get the best out of you. Ive been traning under Brian for years and have had great strength, size and body fat reduction goals. At the same time I have had a blast and the key-able to keep working out. I HIGHLY recommend Brian Tai! I have worked with him for just over a year, first recovering from a shoulder and knee injury, now building strength and fitness. He is extremely knowledgeable, has paced my progress beautifully. He knows how to challenge me, but in a safe way so I don't re-injure myself. I have been training with Brian for the past couple years and couldn't be happier with the results. I've sustained multiple past injuries from work and from sports but Brian is always positive, encouraging, and focused. He continues to help me with operational readiness (job), strength & agility, and rehabbing/preventing injuries. I’ve never cared much for going to the gym, but I definitely enjoy working out with Brian. We started off by discussing what I really wanted to get for my efforts, and he built a plan that was challenging without being overwhelming. He keeps it fresh by injecting new exercises every session, and that keeps me interested and motivated. I’m also very impressed with Brian’s knowledge of body mechanics and nutrition, and his explanations of the “why” for everything I’m doing in the gym also keep me motivated and inspire me to push harder since I really understand what the purpose is. If you are looking to challenge yourself, Bowtai Fitness is the place!! I had injured my shoulders when I did CrossFit, I have been training with Brian in his group excercise program for more than a year and just started training one on one and my mobility has improved a lot- I am able to lift heavier without any pain! 100% recommended!

Q&As

I offer all new clients a free consultation so that we can sit down and discuss their health and fitness intentions. During this consultation, we go over everything from their health and fitness background, their injury history, their current fitness and nutrition routine, and also what their health and fitness goals with any applicable timelines. From this consult, we devise the proper plan and program to reach these goals safely and efficiently.

There is no secret to achieving the body of your dreams. It requires hard work, dedication, and consistency. In order to reach your goal, you need to put in the time and the work and stay consistent.

I love watching my clients grow and improve both physically and mentally. Fitness is a great way to not only challenge your bodies physically, but mentally as well.

I began my health and fitness career in a big corporate gym where numbers and sales were more important than the actual client. I wanted to step away from this environment and start my own business so that the number of sessions an individual is not my main concern. My main concern is getting my client to reach their initial goal and surpassing that goal.

Clients should choose me because of my many years of experience both in corporate and private training. I have learned many good things and bad things from both. I train my clients in a private training facility so that I can dedicate all of my focus and attention on them and they can feel like the gym is their own.
