By living on the West Coast I don't encounter lots of Cajun food thus I don't quite have the tastebuds for it. Regardless I ended up in Lexington and as a vegan, I bee-lined for the vegan BBQ jackfruit. This is by far the best jackfruit sandwich I've ever had. Thank you More...

Amazing, casual Cajun food. Make really good sauces and the best etoufee. Crawfish are cooked perfectly. They have vegan/vegetarian options. Tried their vegan Thai peanut sauce option once and it was really good. They also have a great hot sauce selection which is always appreciated. More...

Great food, awesome vibe and friendly people. I just happened to come across this small southern inspired food joint in the Ashland Park area and it did not disappoint. I got the most popular dish on the menu - chicken twofe and the jambalaya. Both were awesome! We also did the Cole slaw and potato salad which tasted very authentic!! Loved the sweet T! Overall great value for money and you could also meet some great people there!! More...

Saga with a happy ending:1st time we headed in, we knew they only had a few vegan options so we called in advance to ensure that they had them in stock. Arrived to discover that there was some miscommunication so they were out of virtually every vegan option. They felt bad and gave us a coupon for next time but it was still a pretty big inconvenience.2nd attempt: Came in for my husband's birthday and explained the occasion and what happened last time, ended up receiving royal treatment. They hooked us up with some goodies to make up for our bummer first experience and treated my husband for his birthday in addition. Food is AMAZING with huge, incredible portions. Highly, highly recommend. We'll definitely be back. If we could change one thing, it'd be less use of styrofoam and plastic ware but, you know, small business, we get it. Regardless, you should definitely check this place out!! We had the vegan jackfruit sandwich with coleslaw on top and a side of the vegan white chili (chili is a special though they should totally carry it all the time, so yummy). Very excited to bash on all these leftovers! More...

Fast and Yummy! I like spice and flavor and the jambalaya was perfect! But if you want more of a kick there is a great selection of hot sauces to choose from too. Good vegetarian/vegan options and the menu said they have more coming soon. More...

I'd eaten at B'nT years ago when they opened, and honestly don't remember why it didn't remain a fave, but while my son was at UK, he started mentioning he was going there, so I started going back . .. so glad I did, it is now my #2 go to place, whether with family, friends or alone. It is so good and so many choices. They have quite a menu to pick from - my fave (at the moment) is the white chicken chili. The bread and 'butter' is to die for! I always want to order extra, but I try not to! Anyway, the food is great. The prices are unbelievably affordable, so I see why so many students eat there. You can get a full plate of food, rice, chicken, red beans, sausage, jambalaya, etouffee, even 'dogs' and steak hoagie type food. The servings are ample, the price is good. But really, the reason I like so much is the atmosphere - no pretense here - everyone is welcome, everyone is made to feel they are a special customer. The staff is so open and friendly, welcoming, efficient and they remember you by name. It's such a great neighborhood kind of place, but you sure don't have to live in Chevy Chase to feel welcome at B 'n T! More...

BnT is one of those places that my friends who have moved away from Lexington ALWAYS make sure to include in their visits back here. I almost always get "the Truth" which is the black bean & corn dish with jambalaya rice instead of white rice. It's amazing every. single. time. I'd say whatever you get, you can't go wrong - but I'd try subbing out the rice for jambalaya rice at least once! You won't be sorry! It's a small place and parking is minimal so be aware of that - but I promise, it's worth the hassle! More...

A Lexington favorite, this place has been around since the early 2000s and the food is still as tasty as it always has been. You really can't go wrong on the menu, so I always suggest ordering a "1/2 and 1/2" so you can try two items. Most of the food is "sauce" style and is served over short grain rice with two pieces of their delicious bread covered in an addictive spiced butter. My favorites are the chicken piquant, shrimp étouffée, Southwest étouffée with crawfish, and the jambalaya. Their hot sauce selection is vast and has something for every palate. They also offer BBQ sandwiches (meat and vegan jackfruit!), chili dogs, chili, and gluten free options. Desserts include bourbon bread pudding (yum!), cookies, and other rotating baked goods. The inside is small but colorful and inviting. It's definitely not a spot for a long, luxurious meal but a quick bite or a spot for takeout. They do have beer and cider available if you need a drink with your meal. Or even better: grab a to go box and head to the Chevy Chase Inn next store for an excellent old dive. They are very engaged in the community and support local in so many ways, including carrying local beers, Ale-8, and using bread from a local bakery. Definitely a worthwhile spot in Lexington. Delicious food. Hole in the wall without any frills. Staff was friendly and prices are lower than most fast food. Generous portions and once again food was really good. I had shrimp etouffee and white chili; husband had red beans w/ sausage and jambalaya. We both left satisfied, full, and with leftovers. Will definitely come back. More...

The dishes were great but on the spicy side, I told them, with all the different sauces, they offer it should've been so spicy, that cook had it on fire, I will go back but no time soon ,it took the taste of the food away, so I didn't enjoy it to the fullness.
