This is the boxing academy club you want to join and be a part of. To compete and be a USA boxing registered boxer, you'll have to work hard for it! Coaches not playing, training and watching you at all times, even when you believe they're not.You're taught boxing from step1 to all it takes to be a champion, it's up to you to meet the coaches half way. NOTE: Coaches and boxers only gym, although if interested in entering the gym to work out and use the equipment while son/daughter trains, there's alternatives just ask for and speak to the CEO head coach Juan Medina. If you join and thus want to go far in a boxing career well you know where to join. I've known couch Juan Medina for about 10 yrs now. Juan is very knowledgeable in both amateur and professional boxing. Over a year ago my husband and I enrolled our son and it was a decision we are happy we made. He gets to train 5 days a week with others his age and is learning much more than boxing skills, daily exercise with clean eating and committing to hard work are all life long lessons. Coach Juan is a dedicated coach who treats all his pupils equally fair. If you want a serious boxing gym look no further, this is it. My son started when he was 8 he is now 9. From day one the coaching staff and the other kids have made him feel welcomed and never bullied. It's been a little over a year and he has gain confidence and grades at school have improved. Great place, doesn't let the kids mess around (what I like best). Got my son in about 3 weeks ago (age 10) ,seems to be doing good and learning. Like his setup and the way he has his family of boxers all around the place! Those who say he only pays attention to those who are looking to go pro, I don't think so. They give good, TUFF attention to all, and more to the ones who want MORE. In my opinion I love that because I don't feel the kid who is caught picking his nose every 5 min deserves to be with the ones who are working hard to achieve their goals. I started about a month and have already lost 13 pounds, hard work and determination really pays off. Coach Juan is tough, super tough, so if it is not in your heart to box or at least have the determination to strive to better yourself than I suggest to not waste your time coming here because in this gym there is no such thing as an easy ride to learn how to box, it is all hard work, good nutrition and heart.

If you're looking for a true old school boxing gym in San Diego this is your place! No attitudes, no egos, and no BS. I had done some boxing many years ago and when I saw their 1 month Groupon I decided to check out BBA. I called Juan before I went in and knew immediately that he was passionate about boxing. He was also friendly and easy to talk to. In the few minutes that we talked he spoke highly of female boxers, so I knew that this would be a good environment for me.My first day working with Carlos I realized how incredibly bad my form was and how many things I was doing wrong! I regularly work mitts and Thai pads with a trainer, but we focus on striking and power, as opposed to pure boxing form. Juan and Carlos never mentioned how pathetic I looked, but instead took the time to demonstrate perfect form and correct me as needed. They did not have to do this, after all I had purchased a Groupon and was not paying for any type of training. They could have easily showed me a thing or two and left me alone for the rest of the month, but that was not the case.A month is not nearly long enough to truly hone your boxing skills, but I definitely made improvements and got in some fantastic workouts. I really liked everyone I came in contact with at Bound Boxing. I love the fact that Juan's entire family is so involved in the sport and are always at the gym.If my work schedule was different I would become a member here in a heartbeat. I'm hoping that my son will show an interest in boxing, because I would love for him to work with Juan and Carlos.**You need to be aware that the workouts here are extremely challenging. They are not designed for someone who is out of shape. You will work hard. You will be sore. And you will probably love every minute of it! More...

At Bound Boxing Academy you learn how to really box, you're actually taught the craft, and get in tremendous shape while doing so.
