With so many moving companies, I was a little nervous picking one that would be legit. BAM was very responsive and informative and an all-around amazing experience. I am used to paying a deposit, so paying the entire estimated amount upfront caught me a little offgaurd, but I still kept my confirmation. They called to let me know they were on the way. I couldn't decide if I wanted them to move my pictures/paintings and TVs, but I decided to include those and they wrapped them very well. They also stopped at a second location no problem and completed the entire move with 30 minutes to spare.I would use them again in a heartbeat! Very well priced, nice guys and did a great job. My only advice would be to really think about your moving needs and estimate the accurate number of time, truck size and employees, because I could see if you underestimated, it may be more costly than expected. I noticed that in other reviews, but I think as long as you are realistic about how much stuff you have and how well you packed/organized for them, as well as planned for the right size move, you can't go wrong! Super happy with Jeremy, Andy, and Ryan! They arrived early and completed a flawless move in the expected timeframe. They took great care navigating the tight spaces to ensure no damage to my furniture or the walls. So professional, but friendly as well! If you're on the fence between hiring two guys or three, go with three. The move goes faster (they charge by the hour) because the third guy is packing the truck while the other two are carrying stuff out of your old place. Good pricing structure and value for getting the job done. Showed up on time and were pretty efficient. Minus two stars for: 1. Awkward service when workers are fighting among themselves on the job. 2. Stand right there at end of the job to collect tip and request review. 3. Break your stuff and go through a whole insurance documentation process to refund you but never actually follow up. My guess is their ratings are over inflated because of #2. If you’re someone who is strapped for money, DO NOT use this company. To start, this is my first time using a moving company. I usually move myself, but since my new place has stairs, I knew I wouldn’t be able to move my larger furniture myself. However, I did spend hours moving everything but a few pieces of my larger furniture (8-10 pieces total). I don’t have a lot of money to spare, so it was important that I used their time wisely. Up front, I was told to book 4 hours even though I knew I wouldn’t use it all. They said they would just reimburse me for the unused time. I knew they charged from the time they leave their facility until the time they returned, but I had researched a lot of places and found that they were the closest. The movers showed up and were really friendly and made sure to wrap everything and move it. The actual moving of the furniture was great and they took good care of it. At the end, the head mover told me that it would only cost $500 and I would get $100 back (they charged $600 when I made the reservation). Although I was hoping to get more back, I was still happy that I was getting the $100. Unfortunately, that never came, but in the meantime I got the summary of the trip. I noticed I was charged starting at 1:35pm and they had arrived at 2:40pm so right there I paid $150/hour for them to drive to me when I know they are only 15-20 minutes away. I emailed asking about this charge and finally got a response back over a week later. When I got the response, they had noted that they did arrive at 2:37 and it was only a 19 minute drive (which means I would have gotten money back). THEN, they pushed back the end time (the summary said 5:46pm) and said they left my apartment at 5:51pm and it took 13 minutes to get back to the shop. Therefore, justifying their charge for all of that time. The guys finished around 5:15pm, but their iPad overheated and it took at least 20 minutes to cool down. They even put it in my freezer after awhile. After it finally turned on, they also got logged out so they had to call the office to get back in. All of this took about 30 minutes, which means I paid $75 to watch them do this because he had now changed the end time to include the iPad debacle. Some people may not think all of this is a big deal because it’s only $150 or so, but that goes a long way for me. I can’t afford to pay $150 for them to just show up or $75 while their iPad cools down and they log in. I have a feeling since I was talked into reserving 4 hours, that they thought it was fine charging that. So in the end I paid $600 + tip for them to move 8-10 pieces of furniture 15 minutes down the road and I learned a valuable lesson. We hired Boulder All Star movers for a small move and we had to make a couple changes to our reservation and each time, their customer service was outstanding. They were so helpful. Our two movers, Jacob and Marcus, arrived perfectly on time and they gave us a heads up when they left the their station to let us know they were on the way. They were very careful with everything but worked quickly and efficiently and were very kind and helpful. They actually finished under our time quote so it was even less than we thought. Speaking of cost, Boulder All Star movers were among the best priced moving companies that I researched and they had the best reviews as well. Now I know why! I was thrilled to find that Boulder All Star Movers did interstate moves with the philosophy of a dedicated team and truck, just as with their local area moves. I was responsible for getting my 90-yr-old mother's 2-bedroom condo moved from Longmont to Chicago. BAM sent a 7-man crew to pack/load (Omar, Cameron, Brayden, Zeek, Emilio, Will, and John L} because they knew the condo was full of antique furniture and a lifetime of delicate treasures. Our crew was professional, careful, and diligent with their work. Knowing exactly when my mother's belongings would arrive in Chicago was an incredible benefit. I was able to fly to Chicago to meet Will, Zeek and John just 2 days later for the unloading. Everything arrived safely & in perfect condition. My quoted price was exactly what was charged and I may have actually understated what I had to move by a little. If there were 10 stars I would have given this outfit 10 stars. I've moved a lot .... Cross country 5 times to be exact. The first time my husband drove so all fine. 2nd and 3rd and 4th time we used affiliates of a major van line. Each time was a little worse than the first. The last move off CA to CO was an epic disaster. I don't think folks know what they get with BAM unless you've experienced the other side. Let me give you a small picture. The driver (NOT employees like BAM) crammed 3 households into his truck. He arrived 9!! Hours late and better yet arrived speaking on Face Time with his girlfriend while driving an 18 wheeler down a residential street. He had no people to help him unload so he went to Home Depot and picked up 2 people that kept saying "we aren't movers". He broke 3 lamps, "lost" my daughter's snowboard equipment, stole a necklace, .... My stand up desk after he put it together was LITERALLY spitting parts off it. The driver picks it up and throws it in the truck and says "I'll give you a $100". I can go on but you get the picture. With BAM I actually was sad to see the drivers leave. Never thought I'd say that. They packed - CAREFULLY- and helped me put furniture and carpets away. Not a thing was ruined. They were on time and ... are lovely people. Leroy, Daunte, and Ryan were great! They arrived on-time, and were careful with all of our stuff and hustled everything down two flights of stairs. We were only moving a mile from a 2br apt to a house, and I was quoted for 5 hrs with the 3 men and the truck and thought that was a lot, but ended up being just the right amount of time. My experience with Boulder All Star Movers (BAM) was... fine. I booked with BAM based on reviews and the quote that was provided, and it seems like I had a different experience than many others on this site. I was moving from a 2 bedroom apartment to a house (~4 miles apart), and was quoted 4 hours for 3 movers & 1 truck. Prior to the move, I actually moved a majority of items myself-- so ended up only having 5 boxes and furniture (compared to my initial estimate of 25 boxes & furniture). The movers were supposed to arrive at 9am-- they did not arrive until 9:30am (no phone call letting me know they would be late). Upon arrival, one of the men walked into my items, causing him to spill his coffee... which splashed onto my white walls and onto the floor. He started cursing, and did not offer to help clean it up (I had to return to my apartment afterwards to scrub my walls & floor). After taking an assessment of my items, they proceeded to start blasting hip hop music... which would have been fine, had they asked my permission prior. Also, a couple of times during the move, they asked me if I could load some items into my car?! I was baffled... as this is why I hired movers in the first place! After completing the move to my new house, I was notified that they went 30 minutes over the estimated time, which was an additional $75 charge. Normally, this would be OK, but 1) I actually OVER estimated the amount of belongings I had to move, and 2) they stated they left their facility at 8:45am (and didn't arrive until 9:30am). There's no way their facility is 45 minutes away from my apartment in Boulder, and they all also arrived with fresh coffee. I'm all for grabbing coffee.. just don't charge me for that time. On the flip side, all of my items arrived at my new house... and nothing was damaged or missing. So at least there's that. I just wish the movers were a bit more professional. More...
