I really enjoyed working with these guys. Very hard working and craftsmanship on our pavers. When some plants didn't survive the hot summer, they came out once it cooled down, they came and replaced with either same or a new more heat tolerant option. Thank you Luis

We moved into our home last year, and the backyard was essentially a blank slate. We were referred to Botanist of the Valley by one of my co-workers who had recently used them, and have been very pleased with their services thus far. Marty was quickly able to design a plan for our space that perfectly captured our style and met all the items on our wish list. He delivered this design to us less than 48 hours after our initial meeting with computer images that really brought the plan to life. After 8-10 quotes from different landscapers that gave us ridiculous pricing, we finally found an AMAZING team to help us  with our yard , we had a budget they were able to stay with And they did a phenomenal job! We have a very large backyard in the North Scottsdale area.  We have  many plants and large mature trees.  We noticed our regular maintenance guys were just not doing the job needed to keep everything looking good and healthy.  We decided to give Botanist of the Valley a call after hearing great things about them.  Marty arrived right on schedule.  We were so impressed with his knowledge and also his overall personality (loved his energy and concern for the tree and plant life).  We also have additional projects in our backyard involving pavers and a bridge over our wash and he had great recommendations and suggestions for those as well.  We look forward to receiving a quote for all of these.  We feel confident and excited about moving forward with Marty and his team! My wife and I decided we needed to upgrade our landscaping and came to Yelp to check out the reviews.  We sent out requests for quotes to 5 companies and the first one we heard back from was Botanist of the Valley.  They scheduled a design review for the next day between 4:30 and 6:00.  At 3:43 p.m. I received a call from Marty telling me he would arrive at 4:45 p.m.  The courtesy phone call was appreciated so we did not have to sit around and wonder exactly what time they would arrive.  At promised, Marty arrived right at 4:45 p.m.Marty was very knowledgeable.  He listened to our ideas and offered many creative suggestions.  He is going to provide us with a quote within 3-4 business days and we will be able to make some decisions on what we want to do.  We look forward to receiving the quote.During the review process, Marty noticed one of our trees needed some TLC so he offered to provide a soil injection to try to revive it, at no charge.  We were considering just removing the tree and replacing it, but Marty thought we could save the tree and save us the cost of replacing it.  We really appreciated the effort to save us money, but it seemed like he genuinely was more interested in saving the tree.I am not sure how this all will end as we are just in the preliminary phases of the process.  However, we both were very impressed with Marty and our first experience with Botanist of the Valley.  We are very excited to see where the next step in the process brings.Stay tuned! Sent text on Saturday and Marty came out on Monday.  Very professional and comprehensive session.  We live in 55+ gated community and Marty showed me other projects they have done, including submitting plans for approval from the HOA.  Did a walk thru the whole property and ordered a 3D plan.   The process has been excellent and am also very excited to learn they not only install the design, they offer maintenance services.  I will update the community after I see the plan, but based upon Marty's presentation and visit, I am very confident it will be what we are looking for. Met with Marty from Botanist of the Valley today.  He showed up on time, during the time frame we set up on line, and even called to let me know he was on his way. He was patient and thorough, walking through the project we have in mind, even though it was very hot outside. It's not a huge project, but of course it's a big deal to us. He pointed out better ways to set up the irrigation to the new sod we want laid, as well as ways to make over our existing valve system to make it more efficient. He also pointed out some short cuts the pool contractor took when anchoring the pool deck pavers, which will need to be addressed in order for the sod to be installed correctly. I met with Marty Martinez, the Landscape Designer with Botanist Of The Valley. He was friendly, patient and accommodating. I wasn't sure exactly what I needed for my backyard landscape project. Marty offered a lot of idea's for layout, materials and composition. I received a detailed plan on the next steps for the project and he answered all my questions. After careful investigation and discussions with multiple landscapers we decided to go with “Botanist of the Valley” to landscape our front and back yard. From the beginning, the process went very smoothly. They coordinated the selection of plants, rocks and any changes with us. All their workers were courteous and helpful during the installation. We even asked them to move our very large chiminea from the driveway to the back yard, no problem. Some additional work and equipment was added without the additional cost. Marty and Luis and crew did a fantastic job. We moved into a brand new home and so our yard is a covered patio and just dirt all around. We wanted pavers on each side of patio to extend it, then have a nice clean look in our backyard for us and our new puppies to enjoy. They delivered and the work was done in five days! Our design was simple but yet, beautiful. the plants and trees are starting to bloom. Can't wait for them to be full-sized. We also added a water fountain which came a couple weeks later. We almost decided not to get it because of our budget, but they were able to help us find something within our budget. Our backyard is now an oasis. These guys are awesome.  Totally exceeded expectations.  Our backyard needed a serious makeover and BOTV nailed it.  Our house had existing flagstone patios in the front and back yard; we wanted to connect the front yard driveway to the backyard patio with matching stone.  Luis found a good match on the stone and his guys spent days cutting and piecing it all together to match the existing pattern.  We also had them run the walkway out to the pool equipment, build a new retaining wall, and lay new grass and irrigation system.  Entire job took 3 weeks and we are very happy with how it turned out.  We'll definitely use them again to do the other half of our yard in the future. I want to say I got 5-10 different quotes/ designs before going with theSe guys and as I'm sure they will agree with, I expect top tier quality. these guys really know their stuff from Marty the designer to Luis the owner. Marty visited the house multiple times to make sure we had everything designed the way I wanted. Luis came out and walked through everything with me before they got started with the project. Then we went and picked out the plants and trees that went in my yard from the nursery. From start to finish, they were done in about 3 days. Luis can even tell you what type of tree/plant you have by smelling/tasting the leaves. Go ahead test him if you don't believe me. I will put pictures up once the sod finishes growing in. They also offer warranties on their work and plants/trees and even quarterly services to make sure the yard continues to look like it did the day they left. More...

We are new to the area and this was the second landscaper we have had work on the yards. The first one had to be replaced. My husband went online and did some research. We were very leery as the first attempt didnt go so well. Luis was very professional and made us feel at ease from the first meeting. I have to say, he is not a landscaper but everything that has anything to do with your yards. He took care of everything and contacted me with quotes as promised. He even took care of the whole HOA approvals that we all love. I finally got the approval to move forward from HOA and I don't even think it was a whole week....they are done. In one day. They left it beautiful. Cleaned up, no mess and all is perfect. Even better then we pictured it would be. They put in all the pavers, moved plants, replace dead trees and put in the Hunter Hydrawise watering system that I love already. I would recommend Luis and his team to anyone and everyone. The best landscapers in Phoenix by far! The owner Luis gave us a first class experience from start to end.Great communication throughout the whole process. He explained in detail exactly what I was paying for.I've worked with quite a few landscapers on our back and front. The work turned out okay, but nothing to yelp about. Fili was the leader of the crew that worked on our front. He trimmed two large trees. He was able to teach me exactly what I needed to know to keep both trees maintained. I also showed him a couple of trees in the back and from there he recommended what I needed to do once the monsoons started to keep them alive. If I could rate this company better than 5 stars I would . I had pavers installed on either side of my driveway, approx 3 ft to the west and 10 ft to the east.  They were timely, and courteous when they came  out to do the estimate. The day of install the workers were very good in keeping in communication with me , double checking on specifics of the job.  The next day I discovered a leak in the evening when my  drip system turned on.  I wrote an email late that night and they were here at practically sun up the next day to fix it. Emo and Bryan did a great job planting 4 agave, 2 pigmy palms and 1 med fan palm! They were very efficient and did not damage any of my current drip lines around the trees. Amazing customer service! The entire team from Botanist of the Valley are superior at what they do and are very professional. We had them install our entire front and backyard. As you can see from the photo that I have attached, they installed a large amount of pavers for us and the work performed was outstanding. All of the workers (Marty, Miguel, Emo, Bryan, Carlos, Enrique, EusNago, Jaime, & George) are extremely talented at what they do and are very hard-working.  The owner Luis is excellent with following up and making sure the customer is satisfied. Update: When contacted by the young man who came out I honestly didn't want to even try.  But then I received a call from Luis and I could tell by his voice and tone he was very concerned and wanted to make up the bad experience. Luis came out to try and make it right. He took measurements,  listened to everything I wanted and made note of it. I let him know at this point I didn't want to plant because of work I'm trying to have done on my home I wouldn't want any of it destroyed.  He fully understood.  I will hire them in the future or at the very least recommend Luis because he does care. I would be hiring them now but I no longer have the full funds. And I feel bad about this but circumstances sometimes cut us off from things that need to be done.  Good luck to Botanist of the Valley and all who come looking for their services. If you have a bad experience contact Luis he is a very nice man! Before: I contacted Botanist of the Valley after reading all the great reviews. I really thought I wanted to have them make my horrible yards look great like they probably haven't been for years. The guy showed up late,  sat in his car for 15 min,  then came up.  The whole time we're talking about everything I'd like now verses what I want in the future he's not taking any notes. Nothing. Thought well MAYBE he's recording but figured no after his phone rang several times. He told me he'd get me an estimate by that Friday.  I never received it.  Checked every folder I have even did a search.  Nothing.  So I contacted the company asking about the estimate. The guy that came to my house texts me it was sent check my email.  I tell him I have and finally he sends another. It's just a list with prices and more than a few things missing from what I'd asked for. He told me there was going to be more to it showing me what they could do. And then there was other stuff added on to the list that he told me I wouldn't need when I even said I thought it would be needed. So I email back and I ask again for the stuff I had asked for.  Asked questions about the stuff I was told wouldn't be needed. This was all 7 days ago. I have yet to hear back again and have decided I'll keep looking. This was something I wanted done as soon as possible. But just like a few other places they get these great reviews and start not caring or something. Whatever it was with me even if it was you didn't like the job or what I was asking.  You could have just said so.  Don't leave a possible or even customer hanging. What can I say about these guys?!? To say I went through a frustrating experience with landscapers is an understatement. Prior to working with Luis and his team, I spent a ton of money on landscaping for a new house I had built only to find out that the work done was very shotty at best. From the moment Luis came to give an estimate for a complete overhaul of work, you can tell he was all about the customer and their needs. He provided a quick, detailed and very reasonable proposal. The way Luis responded and his personal touch and attention to my pain points is what made me go with Botanist. Luis and his crew were so professional, courteous and helpful throughout the whole process. Miguel is literally the best paver I have ever seen and Emo is awesome to work with! One of my biggest problems with my original landscape was drainage, there was one night during the project that rain was quickly coming...I noticed a truck pull up to my house at 5pm and out came 6 guys with Miguel. Not knowing what they were doing at my place so late, I came to find out they were digging a make shift trench to allow the rain water to flow away before they could put the actually drainage pipes in and needed to do it quickly before the rain came! Their work and precision to meet customers needs is clearly top of mind for Luis and his team. Botanist of the Valley is as good as it gets. From first meeting/estimates with Marty, to design with Luis, installation, and even clean up. These guys are the essence of pros. The install crew of Emil, Brian and Casteel carried out every detail with care and dedication. The work was back-breaking at times, but Emil, Brian and Casteel worked seamlessly as a team. I could tell they too enjoyed the final outcome. The guys even went the extra step- over and above the contracted project- of using extra materials in my front yard to create a dry stream bed. Awesome company! I was calling all of the Landscape Contractors I could find on Yelp - Trying to find one that would install quarter-minus onto some areas of my yard. Voicemail after voicemail and no one bothered to call me back. Then I called Botanist of the Valley - Luis not only answered my call, but scheduled to stop by my house the next day and his crew installed just a couple days later. These guys do a great job not just trimming trees, but also helping reshape them do that the trees grow in the desired way. An unbelievable company when your having an emergency. We had a storm hit a few nights ago and a couple of branches came down on our house. The next morning we cleaned the aftermath. From there we called Botanist of the Valley and talked with the owner Luis. They came out on time and trimmed the trees to help prepare for the next storm. I had an excellent experience with this company & would highly recommend them!  Marty was very knowledgeable & understanding of our needs & situation with preparing the house for the market to sell.  The backyard was just dirt & we had a limited budget to work with.  He was able to help us maximize the budget with the best design layout for the property & everything turned out beautifully!  The front yard grass had issues from years of bunnies eating the grass down to nothing.  He tore out the old grass, prepped the ground & laid new sod.  Because it's July at install, the sod was very yellow & I was more than a little worried.  He was very helpful in reassuring us that it would take over the next few days & it has.  I included a before picture of the grass to see the difference & improvement.  I'm very pleased with everything from start to finish & would very much recommend this company to anyone!!! We have had several landscapers since we moved to Arizona six years ago. This is the first time we are excited to make a recommendation and give a glowing review.   Previous landscapers never did what they said they would do. They also brought plants that looked as if they needed serious help. Botanist of the Valley gets its plants from Moon Valley Nursery!  All of the plants were lovely specimens.  Botanist did everything they said they would do and then some. Luis is a "hands on" owner that is extremely knowledgeable and very likeable.  He personally met with us when we were into the project,  had his finger on the pulse of the project, and hand picked the plants for us when we were unable to do so.Marty was our project manager.   He is very kind, listened to what we wanted, made suggestions, and is patient. He, too, is very knowledgeable.  The estimate he prepared was extremely detailed.  We knew exactly what we were getting and were able to look it up online. All of the products are top of the line.  The employees that came to work on the yard were very professional and accommodating, particularly  'Emo'.  He made sure that we approved all the plant placements. Botantist of the Valley even have an award winning paver that did some excellent custom work to correct work done by a previous contractor.  The work he did on the pathway was fabulous.  It never looked so good.
