About

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I've had dogs my whole life and have always been a dog lover. But before I ever considered being a dog trainer, I was a counselor. I have degrees in psychology and sociology and a master's in school counseling from The University of Dayton.

Andrew took on the daunting challenge of two eight-week-old golden retriever puppies. I call him the puppy whisperer! In two months he has these two little hooligans behaving like gentlemen. Finnegan will soon embark on his training as a search and rescue dog while Winston will be trained as my service dog given my disabilities. We truly couldn’t be happier with the work Andrew has done with Finnegan and Winston. Additionally, in the middle of a true life and death emergency, Andrew stepped in and took charge of the dogs and their training while I spent three weeks unconscious in Riverside’s ICU. We would recommend, without reservation, Andrew and Boop K-9 Training for your dog training needs. Feel free to call me if you want a verbal recommendation. Steve & Karen Alferi More...

Q&As

I love working with dogs and people. I love opening the lines of communication because the change it creates in a relationship between dog and owner is so powerful. I love training dogs who have such a small world because they're reactive, fearful, and anxious, and showing them that there's nothing to be afraid of out there and they don't have to be on alert all the time. I love building trust between owners and their dogs.

Services

AKA the home school program. Andrew will come to your home 3 days a week to work with your dog on basic obedience as well as any behavior issues. Andrew will be training your dog 1 on 1, and every dog will get outside time in their yard and/or neighborhood. Once a week, you will meet with Andrew to go over the progress being made in your dog's training, learn the next steps in training, and answer any questions. Owners are given training homework throughout the week to work on with their dogs.

Your dog will stay in home with Andrew for 2 weeks and receive intensive training. We offer board and train services for a minimum of two weeks to build a better relationship with your dog, which helps them be comfortable and confident in a new environment and creates better training results. Basic obedience and any behavioral issues will be addressed during the stay.

A single private lesson where Andrew meets with dog and owner/family. These sessions are for owners who are looking to take a hands-on approach with their dogs, but want the guidance and expertise of a trainer to guide them through a training plan.
