I loved the layout of the course. There were plenty of elevation changes, ravines, and bunkers defending the greens. Fairways are tight and you are forced to go over and around trees on this course. The putts roll true and the greens have high and low tiers to navigate through. The staff was really nice but I am taking a star off because they got a lot of rain, and the bunkers were unplayable, and there were puddles of water everywhere. We were slipping and sliding in the fairways and the worst part was the greens were SO SLOW. Your household rug is faster. The grain was all jagged because of it so the greens are difficult to read. I don’t mind playing in these conditions, however it was not worth the $100 that we paid for it. They did not provide a discount for the troubles. I played this course for the first time in a couple of years this past weekend. I grew up in Waukegan and played here my whole life. The course was as beautiful and well maintained as ever, but it seems as though revenue over anything else has hit here like everywhere else. I was glad to see a starter, which keep things in order at the 1st tee. That’s where order, etiquette and pace of play ended. We walked 18 holes and waited several minutes between EVERY SHOT while the group ahead of us thought they were playing in the US Open and studies every shot and every putt as if their livelihoods depended on it. The group ahead of them had at least two holes empty in front of them. No Ranger to keep things going. It took 4:40 mins for 18 for a 7:30 tee time is way too long. We normally walk 18 in 3.5 hours at the course we normally play. On top of that I saw guys wearing jeans, jean shorts and sweat pants. Awesome facility very clean nice bar was there because me being inducted into the Hall of Fame on Waukegan Lake County and great time and again the place is a very clean place thanks Bonnie Brook Golf Course in the leaders of the facility and staff had a wonderful time look to be visiting again soon for that Friday night fish fry

It was a great place to go for the fish fry before Covid19. It was a buffet at a decent price. Now there is no buffet, the food is expensive, and is lacking quality and quantity. We no longer go there after 11 years of making it our regular fish fry Friday. :( More...
