They cancelled the deal we had 2 months ago when I paid the deposit, 3 days before I was supposed to pick up the puppy (tomorrow). And they even sold the dog to someone else before refunding the money. The reason why is because I didn’t buy the food and vitamins they sell since I didn’t know it was mandatory to get them in order to get the puppy. 3 days ago when I told them I didn’t order it, Steve’s wife got very rude over the phone yelling at me and suggesting we didn’t have money to pay for the food. Even after I told her I was ok with getting the food and vitamins from them, she continued to yell and she told me many things not even worth mentioning, she ended up the conversation saying she was going to refund the money and hung up the phone. I called Steve yesterday since we had been expecting the dog for 2 months and he told me they had to refund the money initially saying it was because we were not ready to get a new puppy. I asked him if we could buy some food from them while our food was delivered and he said yes then No, and finally said the puppy was already sold. I am wondering how is it possible that we were not able to get the food ready for tomorrow ( in 2 days) and he sold the dog yesterday to another person who would be able to have it ready by then. This was an awful experience, he even told me if I was interested in getting a puppy from the upcoming litter (seriously?). What they did it’s just not right, I admit I didn’t buy the food and honestly I didn’t know since I never received a contract or anything stating that the food was mandatory. There was only an informational sheet they send on text msg and share on Facebook. I haven’t received the refund back yet either and it has been 2 days since the wife said she was doing so and one from confirming it yesterday. More...

I tried a couple different breeders before finding Bone's on Facebook and they were all really unresponsive with long wait lists. When I reached out to them Steve set up a phone call immediately, I put my deposit down and about two months later I got my puppy! This is my first dog and it couldn't have gone better. She's got a great demeanor, super social and had potty training down within about a week after taking her home. The first month was a bit stressful with all that crazy puppy energy but now she's calmed down a bit and is a lot easier to handle. Steve let me know if you're ever in St. Pete and we can get a beer! I cant say enough great things to say about Bone's Retrievers. When we decided on getting a Golden Retriever we went on a search for Breeders, it didn't take long for our decision to go with Bones, when we contacted Steve he was wonderful and informative & professional, especially after telling him we we hadn't had a puppy for many years, we talked about our concerns and he put our minds to ease and discussed his puppies & what i should expect, but let me tell you we picked up our puppy Tucker, and was more then happy from start to finish, he made it so stress free with keeping in touch during the 8 wks prior to picking our puppy up, he was very accessible and we felt very confident with his handling of the puppies, any questions I had, he would call me right back to us. and reassured us that if we had any questions after we take our puppy home he would be there for us. We got to meet the puppies parents which was wonderful & gave us piece of mind. We love our Tucker so much. I'm hoping that anyone who decided to get a Golden puppy will choose Bones Retrievers.
