Really comfortable place right on the marina. Lots of fresh seafood options. Our Server was great - happily accommodated our dietary requests and gave us space to relax and visit. I got there in time for happy hour at the bar and got the last seat. Seemed like a number of regulars but they’re friendly to me. I had a drink and a few oysters while waiting for my friend. HHour wines are ‘house’ and on special price as well as beers and cocktails. Wine list is short but good, and reasonable bottle pricing. Fish was super fresh. Great place for happy hour. We did also order dinner. Had the trout, black cod, swordfish and fish and chips. Server forgot my husband's beer so he gave it to us for free. Right at the water in Redondo.

So great we decided to eat here twice in one day!! We stayed just around the corner and came to this restaurant for an event our family held at this location. It included soft drinks, coffee and tea with a delicious 3 course meal. Absolutely everything was delicious! After the event, several of our family members went outside to their open air patio where we could further our conversations and enjoy eachothers company. We ended up staying long enough to watch the sunset and the staff do a shift change. As we all grew hungry once more we decided to stay and move back inside for some dinner. Loved this place. We went during lunch and they offered to take down our phone number and give us a call when our table was ready. So we were able to walk around downtown while we waited! We’ve been here several times and always had a great time. The food is very good and the service is always excellent. We went today for lunch on my birthday and they were kind enough to give me a complimentary ice cream sundae for dessert. The views from here are always spectacular. This is one of the top 3 nicer restaurants in Avalon, along with Avalon Grille and Steve's. They don't take reservations, and the service is on the slow side (island time !) The menu is small at a single page, but there is something for everyone including for children. The food is good but not different than what you'd get at any mid-level restaurant. I had the swordfish, which was prepared properly and was tasty but not memorable. Bluewater Avalon is truthfully one of only two or three restaurants worth coming to if you want good quality food...not touristy fair type food. In this case, their seafood, fish and steaks are excellent and well prepared. Appetizers are equally well made and taste good. My only issue that they seem to have on a regular basis is with the service. While normally the staff is friendly, expect in general the wait staff to be rather slow, particularly in fulfilling requests after your order has been placed or food has arrived. Parking attendants (father and very young daughter team) were great. Hostess was good. Waiter was alright. Bread was delicious. I've noticed that this restaurant seem to push the drinks more than the bread or food because they're quick to ask if I wanted a refill on my drink but not on bread (all gone by then) - it could just be the service... My friend ordered a lame tilapia dinner. It must have been frozen and not fresh... I would not recommend that one. I had scallops and grits dinner. The scallops were good. Nice decor, clean,right on the bay, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, plenty of friendly fast staff. We arrived about 1pm and to spite the line at the door sat my wife and I down rather quickly. We had the ahi medley that was incredibly fresh. We also ordered the San Fran salad. This would be a 5 star but our salads were served without the hard boiled egg. When we told our server he brought out the eggs within minutes. Also we noticed too late that warm bread was supposed to accompany our meal but was not served, the server didn't offer it. AMAZING PLACE! Each day we went back, Terri I believe was her name, would seat us on the patio with the nice ocean view. The service here is phenomenal! They went out of their way to give us the best service possible. We went back here every day of our trip just to be able to see them again and get that 5 star service from them. They are just the greatest! The best of the best work here! Drinks are made perfectly and the food, oh my goodness it is to die for! Oysters were fresh and delicious! The fried calamari was the best I honestly can say I've had anywhere! They go around and bring you a small loaf of sourdough bread and it is just superb!
