Update: Michael Griffin, the owner, reached out to me via the review and my cell phone quickly after my post. He explained the situation and was adamant about making things right. Bluebird taxi has an accessible van and it's being repaired, therefore, I was sent to Bluebird Mobility. This is a non-emergency medical transportation service. All drivers are CPR certified, background checked and drug tested. The $25 loading fee is a Medicaid mandated fee.Original Review: 2 starsI normally drive my car with a scooter. Due to a hospital stay, I decided I wanted my powerchair for comfort, therefore, I needed round trip transportation for my medical procedure. I have used medical transportation in Chicago and Los Angeles. Both locations half the cost(no loading fee - I never heard of it). I was not told nor did I see anything on their website stating a $25 loading fee(both ways) on top of the $2 a mile(reasonable fee). I feel absolutely taken advantage of for being disabled. Amazing service, fast and polite drivers. Last night was my 21st birthday and by the end of the night I needed a ride home! Driver got me home safe and waited until I was inside before driving away, since it was dark and she said she wanted to make sure I was safe. Bluebird is the only company I will use when I need a ride because I know that they're reliable! Other companies spend so much money on their apps and tv commercials and not enough background checking their drivers!!! If you want to ride the cheapest you can get it, take the bus or a different company but if you want a reasonably priced and SAFE ride with a nice driver, then call Bluebird! My friend Pete and I took a long drive to the the Amtrak station with Micah Silverberg. Micah's driving is excellent and his navigation skills put me at ease right away and got us to our destination on on time. Is there such thing as a #1 Taxi Driver trophy? If so, Jc, Cab #76, deserves it! If not, he should be the start to it! 10 stars all the way. We've used every single taxi company around, and out of every single one of them, Jc is the absolute best! Great personality, customer service, punctuality, cleanliness, friendliness and his AMAZING taste in music. Super smooth ride, inside and out. He opens the electric sliding doors perfectly upon arrival. He even has a cool light on top of the backseat's temperature controller, makes us feel like we're sitting in the back of a limo! Bluebird cab rescued me from missing my flight, after I was stood up by Metro-Checker, who i had called 3 hrs before I wanted to be picked up. The Bluebird dispatcher was very nice and reassuring, and got me the next available cab. Carlos, the cab driver was very professional, and gave me helpful suggestions as to how to navigate through the crowds of people traveling on spring break. I have MS, and travel is often stressful. After reading the reviews on Google i decided to book a taxi with Blue Bird Cab Services from the airport to the hotel. We were not disappointed as the service was excellent. I booked over phone and I had a response back via SMS straight away. We were met by the driver as we walked out of the airport. The car was very clean with complementary water and the driver was great and his English excellent. He pointed out places of interest on the route to the hotel and before we knew it we had arrived.
