If you have thick hair, Shelby is YOUR GIRL! Ugh I have a ton of hair and can probably count the number of good haircuts I've had in my life on one hand. I bop around salons and hairdressers every time I need a cut because they're never that good. Shelby is seriously that good!! She made me feel so comfortable and gave me a fantastic haircut. I also found her pricing really reasonable. I will absolutely be going back! Bluebird Salon itself is really cute and you can tell they genuinely care about their clients. Although it was months ago I felt the urge to share...So it was the first time that I had been to a salon since getting out of the hospital for major surgeries due to a MRSA infection. The booking staff were attentive and thoughtful pairing me up with a wonderful hairdresser who accommodated my specific and challenging needs!  My hair came out beautifully and I even got some great inside info as to how to help nourish and revitalize my hair after such traumatic events! I just got my hair done by Vanessa  she did such an excellent job. She definitely took her time with me even though I was running behind. I showed her pictures of the kind of color I was going for and she went above and beyond that for me, fixing the hair color I had before. Not only that, she cut my hair to where I didn't lose too much length, I have really long thick hair, but was able to take all the spit ends and weigh less so I can finally have some volume. My daughter is a regular customer with Bluebird Salon, so when it came time for her wedding. Bluebird Salon was her first choice. We needed to have hair and make up done off site, for 10. She planned to have both hair and make up done, as did both mothers. Each of the bridesmaids was given the choice of either hair or makeup which worked out very well. 2 stylists arrived, on time and with all the supplies. We had estimated time slots for each person. The stylists remained on schedule and finished on time. It was calm and stress free which are key ingredients to the beginning of the big day. Everyone was happy with the finished results and did not change a thing. The big plus was that it turned out to be a very windy day. My daughter, the bride, had a low bun. Not one hair was out of place and it remained perfect all night. It was amazing. We would highly recommend Bluebird either in their salon or off site not only for the talent, but also for their kind and calm nature. More...

I came to BlueBird salon to have my hair cut and colored before my wedding day and I could not be more thrilled with my experience there. I saw Kristina, a master stylist at the salon, and she literally brought my hair vision to life! I had never colored my hair in the past (ever!) and I was really nervous to switch things up right before my wedding. Kristina was so calm and helpful, she helped me figure out what I wanted and listened to everything I had to say. She took her time and really made sure my hair came out perfect. Kristina is a miracle worker. We had a consult and I had complete confidence that she would transform my orange, streaky hair into chocolate perfection. I wasn't wrong. Her styling is on point too. Bluebird was a wonderful experience. After moving to slo from orange country after ten years and seeing the same hairdresser, I was very nervous in going somewhere new. This salon is so cute. They sell great merchandise out front. I was greeted with a mimosa when arriving. My hair stylist was cute and did a fabulous job. She understood what I was looking for and did it. I've been going here for about 2 years.  It's always clean, organized and well kept.  You are automatically greeted and offered a beverage.  They really strive on great customer service.  Making appointments is a breeze too.  I've seen Cindy and Shelby so I highly recommend them. Shelby U. is now my forever hairstylist after being a walk-in and getting my hair colored and styled by her at Bluebird about a year ago. She gave me exactly what I wanted and then some, helping me find the perfect color and the best balayage I've ever gotten (I tried other people from other salons and I wasn't totally happy). A year later she's still giving me AMAZING, LONG LASTING COLOR and tips on the best way to style my curls (life changing). Both times I came here, I was more than happy with my experience. Vanessa gave me a fabulous color and a perfect cut for my very thick hair. I'm happy to have found a stylist who doesn't try to thin my hair too much, but also takes enough out to keep it healthy. She has lots of experience with coloring, so she could answer all of my questions. Even though it was a very busy Saturday morning, she took her time making sure I was perfectly happy with my style. Just left the salon after getting a total transformation from Chanel (@chaneljoneshair) and I couldn't be more happy! This is the best color I've ever received. Saw the great reviews and walked by the salon a few times before committing to a new hairdresser! I saw Maggie, and instantly it felt so easy. I am a brunette and have gray roots trying to peep in, and my vision has been to lighten up and go more blonde. Maggie got me! I've been a Bluebird customer for about 3 years now, and always go to Curtis who specializes in straight razor cutting.I have very fine and straight hair that never had much volume before. Curtis consulted me and was the first hairdresser to suggest a bob cut. I was blown away - all of a sudden, my hair is full, perfectly frames my face, and makes me feel beautiful.We've experimented with different bob styles and bang lengths and shapes over the past years, and Curtis always offers his expert knowledge of what would work best for my personality and style.I have tried many hairdressers in SLO and the five cities area before, but never had such a great experience as with Bluebird. I highly recommend JZ for her kindness and expertise in getting a gum out of my daughter's hair.  We drove to San Luis Obispo today to visit Bubblegum Alley.  Half way into our drive, my daughter got a bubblegum in her hair in the backseat of the car while we were stuck in traffic.  *Sigh*After visiting Bubblegum Alley and eating dinner, we walked around town to do something about the gum in my daughter's hair and saw this place.  The lady at the reception was super kind and friendly and offered help with hair oil, etc.  I tried to get the gum out of my daughter's hair but did not get far.  Then, JZ stepped in and professionally brushed out the gum.  The ladies here are amazing!  Thank you!!! I always receive great service at Bluebird Salon. Brit is my hair stylist and is fantastic. She's so sweet and does wonderful work every time. She is so easy to chat with and helps me feel comfortable and relaxed every time, which is tough for me in a salon environment. The rest of the stylists are kind and have lots of different strengths between them. Some specialize in curly hair, others with straight, some do great dramatic looks, while others can give you a subtle update you've been needing. I've been going here for years, NEVER have I had as good of an experience as I had with Jillian. She was extremely friendly and willing to put in lots of hard work to dye my hair blonde. I had a lash lift done by Sarah last week and I love how they turned out! I was a bit nervous because I hadn't done anything like that before but Sarah let me know the process and kept me in the loop while doing the lift. We talked while I was there and she is super nice and easy going. I would definitely recommend her to other people and I've seen photos of her other work which is beautiful! Curtis was amazing. I was feeling pretty lost with my hair style and wasn't sure what to do with it. He took the time to consult me on a few cut choices that'd work specifically for my style and hair type. It wasn't just a normal haircut. It was personalized.
