John took photos of my family at Wrightsville Beach. He was laid back and took photos of all the groups we wanted as well as some of his own ideas. Planning a destination wedding is hard enough, but finding the right person to capture the special moments is even harder! John of Blue Sky Photography was referred to me along with a few others. After scouring all of their online portfolios, I narrowed it down to 3. And after speaking to them all on the phone, I knew John was the right person. He was diligent in returning my calls and emails and answered all the questions I had. What really stood out to me most was his passion for the art and not just the money. He took the time to explain how he worked and the styles that he captured. Our conversations were hardly about the price tag, but finding out exactly what I wanted out of the photos. He made sure to follow up with me to get my 'must-have' shots, which only turned out to be 1 specific. Then on my big day John showed up right on time and went above and beyond helping with some unexpected events that occurred. He didn't just point and shoot like some photographers I've seen, he really looked at the picture he was taking made sure everyone in it was perfect. The attention to detail and insistence on making that one and only shot I had requested happen, was exactly why I knew my photos were going to turn out AMAZING! Professional, fun, creative. John has a great eye for an amazing shot.
The background of our photos look like a painting. Many people could attribute that to a beautiful sky, but you have to have THE BEST equipment to capture that kind of beauty. He was meticulous about everything from moving hair out of everyone's face, waiting for passers by to move out of the shot, moving us around for different backgrounds. Working with elements like sun, water and wind can be complicated. He has it down!! If you are getting married ANYWHERE that John is available, you would be a fool to go elsewhere! More...
