I graduated from high school with James, the Chef at Blue 44, and have known him for a very long time. He has always been a kind, honest and conscientious individual. He is truly passionate in all things that he creates and he cares about quality and sustainability. The ingredients are fresh and local and he prepares everything that he makes with great care. I see his posts on social media frequently and I’ve been waiting for the opportunity to make the 2 hour drive for dinner, which happened yesterday. The food was amazing, just as I expected, and the restaurant has a charming and comfortable environment. If you have an opportunity, please give this restaurant a shot. The starters and mains were delicious and the restaurant was packed. They don't take reservations so you may have a bit of a wait - in that case you crowd around the small bar in back and get friendly over drinks with other patrons waiting to be seated.
