Appealing menu, good food, pleasant service. Can't wait to go back and try something else on the menu.  Corned beef hash with hollandaise on biscuit was terrific but the grits could use some attention.

What a surprise this place was for lunch. Brooke was our waitress, she had personality plus. We enjoyed our banter with her. As for the food it was very good. We started with onion rings they came out hot with a nice coating on them and were very good. We both had burgers and fries, we asked for the fries to be extra crispy and they delivered. the burgers were cooked to perfection, juicy and tasty.  You could tell there were a lot of regulars in the place which was very nice to watch and listen to. Friendly home style breakfast spot. Florida's cross between NY diner and Vermont country breakfast. Wish we found this on our first morning in the area instead of the last. Will definitely be back. I have been staying at the nice little suites connected to this little bistro and kept hearing about how good it was. Well they deserve the buzz their getting around town. I was seated quickly after walking in and the staff were all very cheery and kind. The menu covered everything I could expect for breakfast. The prices were a little above average, but still doable. My food came out pretty quickly and everything was cooked to perfection and presented very well. This is definitely a great spot to go for breakfast and I plan on stopping here again before I leave. Probably the grossest dining experience of my life at Blu Island Bistro today. (Not entirely their fault but the handling of everything was bad)Went inside to eat and the only server immediately began complaining to us about how the other customers who just left were the weirdest f***ers ever and on and on cussing very unprofessional. (thinking gee the quality of workers has really gone down but ok).There was old salad and other food items all under our table and on the restaurant floor. We got sandwiches with sides(the sides came wrong). Food was just ok. Still didn't want to put a bad review though...But the kicker was when another customer alerted staff there was something in the middle of the room a few feet from our table and they should clean it up before someone slips. Turns out it was human feces! Our server continues cussing while at our table about how she's not cleaning that s*** up and that she's going to puke. Our server also let us know this is the SECOND time this has happened since she's worked there. Dirty, unprofessional, unsanitary and mediocre food that we wish we didn't digest after this experience. We will not be back. Ever. A great breakfast and service. I read many favorable reviews and validated them on Friday morning. The omelette was huge, filled with meat and cheese, and deliciously moist. A bonus was to get a side of some of the best sausage. Who does that? And, the pancake lived up to its reputation. Not sure why I did not know about this place after coming to Venice for 20 years? Stopped here for brunch at about 1pm on a Sunday. Sat outside and had a wonderful Bloody Mary. Tried the special quiche of the day which had bacon, potato, cheese, and topped with a sweet balsamic sauce. Amazing! Nice little breakfast/lunch spot. All the food was good. I ordered a half tuna salad and half Blu Salad.  The salad was the best part and although called a blu salad i was very pleased that there was no bleu cheese in it. The Turkey sandwich was as expected. In addition to that i order some onion rings which i started to add to my sandwich for flavor and crunch and that made it pretty nice. We haven't eaten out in the past four years - since we got our dog Jon Snow. Didn't want to leave him home alone. Not too many places are pet friendly. And finally!!... We just found a dog-friendly place with amazing service on top of everything. The sitting we found was outside, in a quiet remote corner, with the dog hiding from the outside world and happily observing he action.Our waitress Pam was so sweet, professional, and friendly. The service was outstanding - fast and efficient.  No wait time at all. The food ... the food... was really great. The crab cake eggs Benedict special is especially worth noting. Great service and following all COVID requirements! I had the Blu Burrito and I highly recommend it. The hot sauce is made locally and really adds to the dish.
