Nice little bakery. I don't think it's put it on par with Dolce, Ibis, or McLane; but it has some tasty treats and is probably the best option for a bakery in the River Market area. I've also tried the Reuben sandwich which was good, but not quite the best I've had in KC as the menu claims. A little too much cheese and not quite enough sauerkraut. Overall, good but not great. We absolutely love Bloom for all their fresh baked breads and macaroons (especially the Brioche and Italian with sesame seeds). So when it was time to order a carrot cake for my daughters graduation party, I thought I would give them a try. I wasn’t a big fan of any carrot cake until now, I’m converted. I always stop into Bloom for a look when in the river market. While each item ive tried has been beautiful and well made (particularly the brioche bread pudding, heated, ) and the fresh bread is quaint as can be- however, curious enough the store is almost always empty? Even on a Saturday during market hours. The staff rarely says more than hello which has always been a bit disconcerting. This place is absolutely adorable and I am a fan of patisseries and strongly value local businesses, but there is just a final shimmer missing from the hospitality of Bloom that holds me from giving five stars. We love bloom baking company.  Whenever we go to the city market, we always stop by for breakfast.  We've had their croissants, quiches, and reubens.  Their reuben in particular is probably my favorite in the city, with Fritz's "seasonal" reuben being a close second. Of course, it's a baking company, not a breakfast spot, and their breads and pastries live up to that as well.  We're addicted to their kalamata olive loaf, and their brioche is delicious as well.  Their cookies and pastries are very tempting and always to notch when we give in to temptation. This place is a treat for me! I love it, but It's kind of expensive to me. But their red velvet cake and cream cheese/Chantilly type frosting is amazing! I tried their bread pudding this last time I went in and that was good as well. FOOD IS AMAZING! The owner, Sarah is so sweet and they really are dedicated to making the best food possible, I mean even the presentation of the food is superb. I am a super picky eater and I promise you I love everything on the menu! I took my daughter there yesterday for lunch. She had the grilled cheese and I had the Cheesesteak sandwich. Both were very good. The staff is friendly and go "above and beyond" to make your visit a nice one. Their breads are amazing. Their quiche is to die for. Their sweets will make your mouth water. They also make buttery croutons. A not to miss item on your salad of choice.

We live in Carthage, MO and make it a point to stop either to or from Elwood, KS to visit family.

Prices are reasonable considering the high quality of their products.

Make time to visit this amazing bakery at the City Market the next time you are visiting KC. If you live in KC and have never visited, make it a point to go just one time. I guarantee you that it will not be your only visit. More...

I saw the 4 inch round carrot cake in the display by the window and knew I needed to bring it home with me. So glad I bought it! The cake is so moist and flavorful, and that icing is to die for. Seriously, you pick one of these up to take to your next dinner party or family gathering and you will be everyone's hero. On a side note, I can't wait to buy some of the brioche bread pudding. This is one of the - if not THE best bakeries I've ever been to - all of their items have been mouth watering delicious! Located in the Rivermarket area this place is not to be missed whether you are native to KC or popping in as a guest. I recently got married and wanted to use Bloom for our desserts (what better way to try a little bit of everything from this little place) and everything they provided was a HUGE hit! Guests were raving about their lemon bars and and their infamous macaron but everyone loved the entire setup and the selection provided.
Not to be missed either is their daily lunch special. Fresh baked bread piled with house-made corned-beef = Bloom reuben. LOVE.
When there, ask for Sarah the owner and she will also fill in a little bit of the history on the building. (Don't want to give anything away but it is pretty awesome)

We used Bloom Baking Company to cater a breakfast for 35 people this weekend, and LOVED it. Sarah and her team were fantastic to work with from start to finish. The food was amazing (quiches, pastries and fruit), and I heard one guest tell Sarah the pain au chocolat was the best she'd ever tasted. Bloom Baking Co also worked with us to create individually wrapped iced sugar cookies with our logo to give to each guest - such a nice touch! This bakery is tucked inside the River Market in Downtown KC. While small, they have a ton to choose from. We got some cookies, macaroons, and a sandwich all in one stop. It was all to die for!

Came here to satisfy my macaron craving. Parking was easy and free. The inside of the shop wasn't as nice as I expected with the quality of desserts it looked like they were serving. I got 1 Of each of the 9 flavors of macron that they had. I have enjoyed all of them in terms of flavor. I think texture wise, they could be softer (I think they keep them so cold that it freezes them a bit). There was one macron (white chocolate raspberry) that was so hard it was more like a cracker than a macron. Also, at $2.95 each, these little macrons are not cheap.
