Strictly reviewing their BBQ options when they have them available. Which is on Fridays during the season. Not a huge selection of options for BBQ but the fact that he even tries to do something is worth something. Didn't want a whole brisket dinner so I asked if there was any way I could have a little sampling of it. They obliged, Im grateful for that. Not the best and not the worst. I little too "wet" for me. Not "wet" as in moist or juicy although it was plenty juicy enough. I mean "wet" almost like a grease that won't dry up or like an oily texture. Good enough rub on it, easy to chew. But they drizzled a little BBQ sauce on it and that's a no no for me. Ribs were pretty good. Rub had a subtle sweet, salt, and spice kick to it. Meat was pretty tender but could be a tiny bit more tender if anything. Half rack came out uncut and drizzled with sauce and some sprinkled green onion for show. Cowboy Pit Beans. Typical. Reminded me of Bush's beans honestly. Mac and cheese looked like Annie's Pasta with some crumbled cheez-its, which were stale. Gooey Grit style cheese. Not terrible but will never win any awardsSlaw was typical but at least it wasn't really mayo based. More vinegar style which I like more. Cornbread had jalapeños. Good flavor mix of the jalapeño flavor. Moist bread, good portion. Can't say much about their actual restaurant because I've never tried anything else other than a spoonful of their mashed potatoes which didn't do much for me. Looked like a real locals type of place. Everyone knew each other and were having a good time. Some musicians come out to play on the patio sometimes. Good times. More...

Excellent food and service. Ate here for breakfast and it left a smile on my face for the rest of the day! Don't judge by the outside, they haven't been around all that long and we all know the last couple of years have been a huge challenge for small businesses. Anyhow, such fresh ingredients when most the other placed treat mushrooms and onions as afterthoughts this owner and cooks put a premium on them! I'm from out of state but wanting to relocate and I hope we end up close to Johnny's. Love, love, love this place! Dan More...

This past Friday we had the pleasure of having dinner at Johnny's. The live music outside was so enjoyable. Johnny had an amazing special of smoked chicken on the bone and mashed potatoes. The chicken was the best I have ever had. The mashed potatoes were out of this world. The meal was so good that I ordered a second order to go and had it the followings day. In case it's of concern to you: this is a very intimate (small) location and the staff do not wear masks, even those unvaccinated. While it is of course everyone's own choice, I find it weird how they have signage up about patrons wearing masks yet the staff don't and even have no issue sharing vocally that they are not vaccinated and don't plan to (in this case the waitress said she would only be vaccinated if it stopped her from going to school). With that:I do love this place- it's a local staple offering a true hometown diner experience. From the cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and locals, and of course good food it's a place I would normally have no trouble recommending. In fact when people visit from out of state it's one of my must dos.Again, I know there are many viewpoints and beliefs but if the location cannot even comply with CDC guidelines of having staff not vaccinated wear a mask then are there other health areas that are being ignored as well? For that, I unfortunately cannot give more than 3 stars. You cannot have signage up promoting mask usage and social distancing for patrons to protect each other and your staff yet have staff doing the exact opposite. More...

Food was great and the service was wonderful. I got the two egg platter with over medium eggs, homemade hash, and home fries. There was also 4 half slices of toast on the side. Everything was a little on the greasy side, but it's a diner. I wasn't expecting a health conscious meal... everything was still very tasty.I ordered the coffee milk but it seemed rather milky. It was my first time having it but the locals I was with told me it was too milky as well.We did overhear a waitress at the bar having a conversation with a customer about how she was unvaccinated and not planning to get vaccinated anytime soon. It was a little strange since she was working the bar and also unmasked. My friend said the business also had signage about staying masked if not vaccinated so I thought it was strange they were not even enforcing this policy amongst their staff. More...

Wicked good Diner Food!!!! How have I never heard of this place?? It really looks like an old school diner inside and the food is legit with really affordable pricing. Their sausage gravy and biscuits were delicious. The gravy was perfection and it had some sweetness which surprised me, tasted like a little maple syrup. ($4.75 for a half order). The biscuits were a little on the small side, but light and buttery.I loved the sauce that came with their stuffed french toast. It came with two slices of Texas Toast that were pretty good. Not a huge portion, but only $6.75. Superb customer service also, on the phone and in person. They were busy when I grabbed my food, but still very polite. How every food establishment should be! Johnny's has a cool outdoor setup and on Fridays they're open longer until 8pm. It's their BBQ day and they have music as well. I gotta check that out next. Definitely recommend! More...

Only thing Mac and cheese is my favorite dish ever and theirs was not flavorful whatsoever :( They added some cheesy crackers on top which is not needed. I have a few breakfast options around and Johnny's is always my first choice. This is a tiny place, quintessential diner atmosphere. I love it. It's the kind of place where you get to talking to the folks at the next booth over because the mood is just so friendly.

The food is excellent. I hear people say "it's eggs and stuff, how can it go wrong?" Sure, but I don't go to a diner for eggs...I eat those at home. I come for the extras: the beans, the home fries, the sausage gravy...mmmm! The eggs ARE good; cooked the way you ask for and not over or under done. But, I love the beans. They are the smoky, bbq style and they are SO. GOOD. I personally don't like hash, but my aunt, who fancies herself an expert, says it is the best here. In fact, it's bc of her love of the hash at Johnny's that we started going there in the first place.

The service is excellent. I never wait for anything, and the coffee flows. I have to turn my cup over so I don't get over caffeinated. The servers are friendly, and engaging. They want to hear about your day, whatever, and aren't rushing off before you finish your sentence. Really intuitive with needs as well. Never had to ask for ketchup, syrup, etc-it always finds its way over to the table.

I've never used the restrooms here, but no one I've been with at Johnny's who has used it made any comments so it can't be that bad.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because sometimes the floors under the booths are a little grubby. Bits of toast and petrified scrambled under there, etc. mostly in the corners where a regular person wouldn't see, but since I have a toddler who drops EVERYTHING I get up close and personal with every nook and cranny of every restaurant we go to (none of them are good, with a few exceptions.) My advice: don't go looking under the radiator at ANY establishment, or this one, unless you really really need that favorite Paw Patrol friend, and you will be a much happier diner/customer. This place is otherwise very clean: no sticky surfaces, crumbs on the seats, sauce and condiment bottles/containers aren't all crusty and hardened, no spots or dried food or streaks on the dishes or utensils, and the place doesn't smell like a dirty mop.

So, if you are in the area, stop by to break your fast. Try the beans! Try the sausage gravy with biscuits! Try the hash! And get a few eggs to go with it. You won't be sorry. More...

My bacon was dripping with so much grease that I had to use napkins to sop it up. Home fries were hard and under cooked. Even my eggs were greasy.
