Even though the government provides these benefits, they are not easy to obtain. You must subject yourself to a rigorous administrative process in order to receive financial assistance of this kind. First, you must determine if you are eligible for SSDI or SSI, or both. You then must file an initial Social Security Disability application, which should include sufficient background information and documentary evidence. If you do not provide all of the necessary data, your Social Security claim will be denied. Even when you submit a complete application with all necessary documentation, it is possible that your claim will be denied. If you have received a Social Security disability denial for any reason, you may be able to appeal the decision. The appeals process is even more complicated than the initial application. Therefore, it is not only desirable but essential, that you have an experienced Social Security Disability representative to guide you through.
