I cant say enough good things about this bakery. They made a cake for my nephews graduation and did an exceptional job! Tasted wonderful, everyone raved about it. Good heavens but that cake was delicious!! I found out at the last possible moment that I needed a birthday cake the next day in the morning. I called around and most bakeries were already closed but BitterSweets was still open. They suggested a cake that they had ready that had a sort of buttercream/cream cheesy frosting, vanilla cake and raspberry filling. They personalized it and I got it at 9:00 the next morning. We moved here from the North Dallas area and love Sprinkles cupcakes, yes-they are that good! We've been here for a few years and BitterSweets red velvet cupcakes are good substitute when craving a Sprinkles red velvet cupcake. We also enjoy the cute flavor themed cupcakes. Ordered a cake for my daughter's quince. The cake was amazing, delicious, delivered exactly on time, and beautifully decorated. Great product. Everyone asked about it. The buttercream was not grainy from the sugar, cake and filling flavors were perfect together, and all of it - including the extra sheet cake - were of exceptional quality.They lost a star because of ordering practices. Every time we went in the store, a different person answered our questions and no one has a consistent explanation of what goes on. We had to verify the order 3 times, and they don't write out any details on the receipts, so you get an order with a "total" - no itemizing - which causes the price to fluctuate depending on who you talk to. We finally had to work directly with the owner. Make sure you ask them to write everything down, and speak with Deobrah, the owner, to order your things because she does not agree with her employees on pricing and decorating. After we verified with one employee how the cake would be designed, Deborah had a totally different idea so we had to go back in and the price kept shifting. The employees are friendly and professional, but I feel like they can say one thing that you are counting on being accurate (design and price), but then Deborah can change all that and it can affect the cost, so I would say just go straight to the top. The cupcakes were delicious, no doubt! Very rich and sweet, beautifully presented, many great and unique flavors to choose from. Were these delicious cupcakes worth $34 (inc tax) for the dozen? Well, it's one of the silliest things I've done in a while, and I likely won't do it again soon. Besides the unique flavors, and general yumminess, they are your typical small cupcakes, nothing stand-out about the size or value that makes the price worth purchasing often, for me and my budget anyhow.

For the outrageous cost, I wouldn't mind buying them maybe once a year for a very special occasion. If they find themselves more reasonably priced in the future, I'd be willing to splurge every few months, as they're quite good and there are so many flavors to experience. More...

We saw this place driving around and decided to stop by and try their cupcakes. I've been back a few times since and the cupcakes have been delicious every time. We ordered a vanilla/raspberry cake and some GF cupcakes for our baby shower and there we no leftovers. However, between the raspberry filling and the frosting, the cake was a little too sweet and some of us scraped some off the cake, so I'd recommend making the filling between the layers not so thick or perhaps asking about not-so-sweet filling options. This beautiful and delightful bakery is an awesome surprise and treat for the Westside, and I would strongly encourage everyone to "cross the River" to enjoy the delicious baked goods this bakery creates. They even have GF options!  We bought the raspberry marscapone cupcake AND the lemon bar - both perfectly amazing!   Now if they would only serve coffee to go with their goodies.....  Hmmm, maybe I'll bring that up to them when I go again to try some of their other eye-catching mouthwatering treats! I absolutely LOVE THIS BAKERY! Staff is friendly, every time I come in they are diligently working on exquisite details of BEAUTIFUL cakes and desserts. It's a Small shop and mainly only sell Cupcakes,  cookies and THE MOAST DECADENT Sinfully Rich Chocolate Cream cheese Bars that are HUGE for the typical walk in Customers. They have marshmallows and handmade doggie treats too. But there cupcakes selection is amazing. They don't have the same cupcakes every single day. The other day they had s'mores cupcake (Chocolate Cake, whipped marshmallow cream cheese frosting, dusting if toasted Graham crunches and a cute toasted marshmallow and chocolate curl) their cupcakes are almost too beautiful to eat and they taste even better. They have your typical red velvet, birthday cake, lemon ,strawberry, cherry.. but they're s'mores and key lime pie and the ones they create out of their minds are just amazing. Between the wonderful customer service and the fact that they remembered my name on my second visit, the wonderful desserts and I'd say pretty fair pricing for the amazing treats they provide.. I definitely would give this a five-star probably 10 if I could. I had a few of their wedding cakes for events that I've catered it's not your typical dry wedding cake that just looks beautiful on the outside ..it's actually stunning and delicious on the inside as well..
