We went for lunch yesterday largely because of the great reviews. Yep the reviews were accurate. Both the food and the service were great. My husband had the Ruben sandwich which he said with a wide grin was the best Ruben he has had since we moved out here from NY. I had the shrimp papadelle (spelling?) which was equally good. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of shrimp in it. Now I'm looking forward to going back for dinner to sample some of the excellently sounding dishes on the dinner menu!! More...

I heard good and bad reviews of this restaurant so had to try it. Went to dinner with a group of six friends. Wine corkage $10. It doesnt mention that on the menu but not a bad price. Wait staff were all very attentive and aware of our needs. Had the shrimp and grits. OMG. Not kidding. Best tasting thing in the world! Blown away. Creme Brulee cheesecake awesome. We passed the plate around the table, everyone had a taste (or two). Generous portions, just right. I'll be back often to try it all. Highly recommend you make a reservation on their funky service. Each month they have a new menu!! So for a smaller area with little options this is Amazing. Their food is very well prepared and is made with the freshest ingredients. My four year old daughter even ate what they prepared for her!! They also have some fun events each month. This is a must hit spot. If you are local and have not been here, you are crazy. My husband and I enjoyed a lunch date today at the Bistro. He had the Portabella mushroom burger that was spectacular. I enjoyed the lunch special. An Asian Chicken salad. Simply wonderful experience!! We had a party of 11 and made reservations that day about an hour before we came in.  They had the table ready for us and we sat down immediately.  Our server Tennille was attentive, fast and gracious, she's awesome at what she does.  Rodney and KC exude finesse with their cuisine and it shows...the flavor profiles in each dish are just perfection...we love Bistro 49! Had a wonderful birthday lunch here today with a friend. She raved about her fish tacos while I had the steak salad. It was excellent. The service was great. When we left, my friend inadvertently left her purse on the ground by the table (we ate outside) and just as she discovered it missing, the young man employed there came running across the street to return it to her.
