Big Bad W Pit BBQ

This is the second time I've been here. To be honest, I didn't remember the first time. I would rate a 3.5 but that isn't  possible, so round up. I loved the brisket, mac and cheese,  and coleslaw. I like the ribs. Wasn't a fan of the pulled pork. The french fries and Blackberry cobbler was ok( fries not in pictures). Cornbread was my least favorite of all. They catered our church function at a local hotel conference room. Great food and friendly service. Thoroughly loved the chicken marsala and the tender brisket! Would highly recommend!

We ate here for lunch today. I had a pork and brisket plate with green beans and red beans/rice.The food was all homemade and delicious. Very friendly staff and atmosphere is good for a lunch place. Whoa! The Mrs and I were coming back from DC, extremely hungry and racing traffic! We Yelped BBQ spots in Stafford, Va and came across this jewel! OMG! Are we glad we did because they are FANTASTIC! If you are stuck on I-95 and need a break from traffic and something really good to eat, this is the spot.The Mrs ordered the howling Sampler, superb! I ordered the Smokey Baby Back rib platter, Mac and cheese, fried cabbage, coleslaw, upside down cake, lemon cake.The BBQ here is cooked by a professional, I say that because of the numerous awards they have received from 2016-2019! This is probably my favorite BBQ in town. They have outstanding pulled pork, phenomenal Mac and cheese. The staff and cooks are just a blessing to deal with and are extremely kind. Highly recommend.

Great food and I appreciate the extra serving. I would recommend if you are catering for a large group of people to have more people ready to facilitate that or having more food ready to quickly serve.

I've driven by this place several times, always saying "one day I want to stop in and try it."  I finally did this week and have to say I "WAS NOT" disappointed!  The food is good!  I ordered the family meal, which includes a half-rack of ribs, half a chicken, and (4) sides.  The meat was smoked and seasoned well, and all the sides were good too!  Next time I want to try some of their desserts, as other customers have written they are good too. We stopped here on the way home from Atlanta. My partner had been craving BBQ. I am so glad we found this place. The food was so delicious that we got some pulled pork and red beans and rice to take home for dinner the next day. The proprietor and crew working that night were so friendly. Having just moved here from Texas, my husband and I have been searching for a good BBQ place. We had found places with good, but not good, true BBQ--until we tried Big Bad W. This is the real deal and amazingly good. I think we ended up trying at least half the menu and never got anything I wouldn't get again. The pulled pork was probably the best of the best. Tender and fantastic flavor. (They smoke onsite; I asked and we could taste it once we dug in.) The brisket was also REALLY tender, so it was probably my second favorite. But my husband loves the ribs more, and my son loved the chicken. And the sides were just as great. Everything was fresh and flavorful, and there were a lot of side choices. The green pepper corn muffins were a nice twist of savory in the usual tasty sweetness. Thank you Big Bad W for bringing us so much joy! This place is bomb! Nothing fancy, just good smoked bbq and amazing southern side dishes.Their prices are good, the family is friendly. So far we have had ribs, pulled pork and brisket as mains. Y'all... it is HARD to impress a Texas gal when in comes to bbq, but this place is LEGIT. The brisket had a nice crust (which is a MUST), the green beans were exactly how my Mamaw made them growing up (and y'all know a southern cook is a GOOD COOK), and the mac-n-cheese was top notch. .. and I'm a mac-n-cheese snob, so that says a lot about how delish it was! They also have 3-4 different types of bbq sauces to try. And Mr. Leon (the owner) came by the table to check on us and our food... SUCH a nice guy and an appreciated gesture. Another plus: they have a stack of games to play while you wait. This was perfect for our family, as the kiddos were already HANGRY when we ordered, so this helped the time go by more quickly!
