As somebody who works in Rosslyn, I am a huge fan of Bethesda Bagels. I always feel a little bad paying up to $10 for a breakfast bagel, but their portions are so hearty that I almost always eat half for breakfast one day and half the next. I particularly like their garlic bagel and the Nova B.L.A.T. (bacon lettuce avocado and tomato) with lox. I also love that they have a actual salmon option instead of just lox. Here are some more positives:- consistently good bagels- fast and accurate service- serve lunch bagels all day for those days you don't want a breakfast bagel- coffee is delicious- they will happily modify your order how you wish including "scooping" out bagels to save you carbs and caloriesHowever, there are a couple areas for improvement:- sometimes the ratios are a bit off - apparently you can have too much cream cheese on a bagel or too much egg! I usually ask for fried egg even though I prefer the scrambled because the scrambled is WAY too much and I always throw half in the trash- they don't have butter, just a fake butter spread that is not so deliciousAll in all, we are very happy to have Bethesda Bagel in Rosslyn! This place had the best bagel sandwich I've ever had... so good I went back the next day. I got an everything bagel with egg, pepper jack cheese, tomato, and avocado. The really load on the avocado (unlike most places) and the egg, which so fresh and not like it was cooked early in simply reheated. The bagels here are amazingly fluffy yet have that perfect crisp outside you want in a bagel. Are you someone who needs/loves a grab and go breakfast in DuPont Circle? Bethesda Bagels is a good place to stop. A bagel, plus egg, plus cheese and plus meat (bacon or sausage) is reasonably priced. The only negative is the lack of seating (you will likely need to go elsewhere) and the homeless dude who begs every patron for cash/food every time you go there. If you order a bagel and cream cheese, ask them to spread the cream cheese at 1/2 the spread, otherwise... your bagel is too covered in spread. More...

This place is legit. Stopped here for breakfast on the way to the zoo while in town. Being from north jersey, a GOOD bagel is often hard to come by. I stopped by here (1pm on a Thursday) craving a BEC after moving to the city about a month ago. The service was barely there and can very much so be improved (reason I docked a star)I would have to say while my sandwich was not the absolute best I've ever had, it was pretty damn good. I was able to see them making since there was virtually no line and although I asked for my bagel to be toasted (it was not) it came hot and fresh. The bacon was your standard slices, nothing special and the eggs were actually seasoned, surprisingly after reading other people's reviews. A coworker of mine has been talking about Bethesda Bagels for three months. The fresh bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and, of course, a gigantic donut that may or may not exist at this location. Today, I finally decided to check it out after grabbing a Cava bowl nearby. I ordered an everything bagel (my favorite) with bacon, eggs, and American cheese. While waiting, I spotted the legendary gigantic donut and decided I would leave it on my coworker's desk.Bethesda Bagels doesn't mess around! First of all, the everything bagel was fresh and perfectly seasoned with a little bit of salt. I would've preferred a larger ratio of poppy seeds to sesame seeds, but I won't hold it against them as a poppy seed fanatic. The bacon was crisp and plentiful, and the eggs were fluffy and massive, hanging out of the bagel a couple inches all the way around! Toasted with skillful precision, the texture of the bagel was complemented by a soft combination of egg and melted cheese over a thick bed of crunchy, flavorful bacon.This bagel was a champion among breakfast bagels even after finishing an entire lunch before it! My coworkers looked on in awe as I devoured this masterpiece in a fiery passion. It seems we'll be taking a team lunch to Bethesda Begals before this week ends.As I struggle at my desk to stay awake, catching myself drifting into sleep with momentary dreams of a single bite into my late bagel, I feel no regrets and have only myself to blame.
