This cute little marketplace was opened during the pandemic for grab and go items made by the chef/owner of Bethany's table. She does small catering orders and to go orders from here. Wonderful house made pastas and a variety of sauces to help make your dinner plans easy. Grab some fresh bread and dessert and you're all set. They have some great local featured items and a good variety of wines. Stop by and check it out or make reservations for Bethany's table next door. We've been here before as the food is delicious. Usually the service is top notch and it started that way, however the adult entrees took over an hour to come out. Not sure what happened but there was no apology, explanation or acknowledgement. My son even said that they forgot about our food. At least the kids meals were out in a reasonable time, however the adult entree timing was unacceptable. It's sad as we love this place and took our kids here for the first time but unfortunately had a bad experience since I was hangry from waiting and waiting. More...

The time slots for lunch, happy hour and dinner is not very accommodating if you aren't familiar with the restaurant. I went in for something apparently only on their lunch menu and it wasn't time for the dinner menu yet because it was happy hour, which was a small menu of snacks and drinks. Had the best service while I was there with a friend last week. I had a migraine & the manager/ server heard me tell my friend that. Without me asking for it, he brought me an ice pack- so sweet! First time we stopped in for lunch and surprised that you can eat for the same price as a fast food place (except you get a much better meal here)! The grilled cheese on sour dough was perfectly crisp and well matched with the tomato bisque. The side salad had a very pleasant and light vinaigrette on it. This place provides an all-around comfortable, delicious and satisfying dining experience. We sat outside on a hot day with our child by choice (still trying to avoid large indoor crowds) and the owner went above and beyond making sure we were comfortable by setting up a misting fan that made a big difference. Everything we ordered was delicious. There were 3 of us and we shared small plates because it was hard to pick one thing. The scallop salad was very tasty. Went to dinner with 2 good friends Wednesday to dine leisurely and chat. Our server and bus person were lovely and informative and the hostess was attentive. Unfortunately the A/C was not working - evidentially an ongoing issue during the continuing hot spell. We didn't want to leave but it became really uncomfortable. I don't understand why we weren't forewarned. Owners/management most definitely knew it was an issue when they accepted our reservation. It was upsetting to be disappointed like this and I'm horrified that the servers and cooks had to work in these conditions. The food? Good "housemade" burrata appetizer, beautifully presented but the skin was tough. Lovely scallop salad and a generous, very good pork chop, but its hard to truly enjoy good food when you're sweating. I used to visit the restaurant regularly when they first opened years ago. Service was good and prices were reasonable. Went to dinner last night and t our waiter was extremely pompous and made it difficult to connect in any level despite multitalented efforts, I just shut down after the third attempt. He has another person shadowing him and he was so pleasant and nice (I would love for home to take care of our table if we return). It also appeared that pompous guy works the room and goes overboard for a certain type of clientele. Frustrating to not have a friendly server. We ordered the salad special and didn't realize that there was going to be a gigantic hunk of blue cheese on top of the lettuce. The slice took up half the plate. We are some of it and let the rest to get thrown out. Not sure why anybody would want to eat a one inch this slice of blue cheese that was so large. This is a great place to eat --- if you aren't too hungry and don't care about getting a good bang for your buck. I ordered a hazelnut gorgonzola (I think? The crumbles were so microscopic, I can't remember if they were bleu or gorgonzola. Sorry. The hazelnuts were chopped so finely, it was difficult to identify those too.) Those were mixed with standard mixed greens. The salad was smaller than most places' side salad and cost $12. See what I mean? Cup of tomato basil soup was very good! I had just opted out of a cream based soup which I had told the server I don't do. She didn't say whether this soup had cream or not. I'm assuming it didn't but it would have been nice for her to tell me. Served with two baguette-width and thin slices of delicious Italian style bread. Just wished I had more! I think one was meant for my friend! Service was okay. Server had a slightly creepy pasted-on smile every time she came by. However, the point is she did come by on a regular basis to check on us. Or I wouldn't have noticed the smile. My bill came to $21.42. This is a fine price for a sit down lunch --- assuming the portions are satisfying. What’s your signature dish?
Prawns and Polenta. Prawns seared with butter, white wine, tomatoes, chipotle, garlic and scallions over our house creamy polenta. Its hearty, bright and a staple on our lunch, dinner and catering menus.
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
We work individually with each client to create the experience they are looking for. From the super-specific to the super-casual, we specialize in family-style 3-5 course meals for large groups. We reference our European-style and PNW-influenced menu to include fresh dishes that represent out local bounty and please many. We can accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions when arranged in advance.
What do you love most about your job?
What we love most is connecting the community in a number of ways. Connecting patrons to the earth by working frequently with local farms, connecting to the community by partnering with local businesses and organizations, and connecting with each other by providing a warm and welcoming environment to connect with family, friends, neighbors and coworkers.
What inspired you to start your own business?
When we took over the space that is now Bethany's Table, it was a take-and-bake meal company called "Dinner's Ready". It didn't take us long to realize that the neighborhood was in need of a quality anchor restaurant. Luckily, Chef Janet had the robust experience to turn it into a charming and delicious place to eat. She has been in the food business ever since she was in her teens, traveling to Europe right after high school, returning to Oregon to graduate from Le Cordon Bleu and proceeding to work in some of Portland most notable restaurants.

We have two Private Dining Rooms. Our Columbia Room can accommodate up to 32 comfortably. Our Willamette Room can accommodate up to 12 comfortably.
