We had reservations for my sister's birthday because this is her favorite restaurant in Norman, however it was mine and my husband's first time. The food is absolutely 5 stars, everything was delicious and cooked perfectly for everyone at the table. The service was very lacking from our server. We had to ask for or wait really long for everything throughout the meal and things were brought out at different times such as drinks, bread, and appetizers. Then we had to wait even longer for our check. I've had better service at Chili's. I know fine-dining usually involves a wait but this was excessive especially when we kept having to ask for refills of drinks and bread - the server looked obviously flustered. We all expected more from a fine-dining experience. My sister kept apologizing on his behalf saying the service has never been that bad. More...

Is there anything bad to say about Benvenuti's!? The answer is no! Every dining experience I've had here has been excellent. My husband and I love to go for Birthdays and special events. I've also worked with the catering team for many work events and they have always been so great, from planning menus to execution of the event. Hands down my overall favorite Italian restaurant in Norman. Also the most expensive. It has an upscale atmosphere that is fitting for special occasions. Great entrees, exceptional wine selection, and superb desserts. I highly recommend the Fornarina appetizer, I can never turn it down. For what amounts to cheesey bread, it is also so much more. I don't want to oversell it, but it is just delicious. If you like mushrooms at all, then you should strongly consider the Mushroom Rigatoni. It is my default choice. I've tried nearly everything on the menu, but I keep coming back to this one simple dish. There are simply no wrong choices on the dessert menu. Do yourself a service and save room to try one. Our server, London, was really helpful. I had a special - veal cheeks - my business travel takes me very regularly to very nice restaurants, and this dish is one of the nicest I've had in a while.

Three bartenders were impressively taking care of the dining room orders, the seats at the bar, and the many patrons waiting for their tables on this busy night. Benvenutis is a high-quality Italian. You will sample some of the best Italian food you have had. This is not your pizza and spaghetti, neighborhood place, not to put those down, but this will be a wonderful dining experience. Be prepared to pay a bit more.

We visit Norman as our son is in college here. We also love to try new places. We saw this place while driving down Main Street and decided to give it a try. The ambience is nice with indoor and outdoor seating. They thoughtfully have blankets and heat lamps outside if it gets a little chilly. The service was great and everyone was attentive. The food was excellent. We had the bruschetta appetizer, lasagne. Bolognese, and wild boar gnocchi. All were outstanding. Nice, clean, upscale restaurant, perfect for an adult dinner out. For an appetizer, I would recommend the Risotto Arancini or the Shrimp Sriracha. If you like fries, you may like the Truffle Fries. The salads are good, but small, and a little light on the dressing. For an entree, I would recommend the Chicken Piccata, Grilled Mixed Vegetables plate, or the Spaghetti & Meatballs.
