I think Bella's is on par with Pasqual's. By far the best ingredients and mix of flavors.  Their salsa is smokey. Holiday desserts are always a surprise and hard to choose from. The friend baba sundae is amazing. One of our favorite restaurants and kid friendly. More...

While vacationing in Taos, New Mexico, my husband and I chose Bella's Mexican Restaurant for dinner. There is a lovely patio, but unfortunately a rain storm drove us inside. We each chose a glass of Tempranillo wine and shared the Beef Fajitas which were excellent! Our server was new so a manager stepped in and helped. We liked the extra attention. More...

In Taos for a week, we were in search of great New Mexican food.  This in the only place that delivered.  With a different menu, we had fun choosing because so much of the menu was unfamiliar to us.  The pork and the beef were both mouth watering, and our service was great, even though I can't really rate that as were were the first ones in, so we were the only patrons there.  It may have been a bit overpriced, but it was very good. Again we were not in a hurry, just thirsty plus could have sold a few more drinks while we waited. I believe it was the Chef/owner came out to take our order and explained the menu and house specials. Very well done and with passion. Food was hot and delicious with a warm fire in the fire place. The waiter for our lunch was very engaged and obviously proud of the menu old Taos family traditional restaurant. The fire place was welcome on a freezing afternoon. The food is not only "New Mexican" but also traditional Mexican and not your regular fare of tacos and enchiladas either. Corn and flour tortillas are house made. The coconut flan was perfect to share, very decorative (I wish I had taken a photo). Yucatec pork pibil was lovely with a citrus long cooked tenderness. The shrimp in the blue corn enchiladas de camarone tasted obviously far from the sea shore, but the dish was delicious. Green chile was very good and just spicy enough. I am a New Mexico resident so I was not surprised by the spice. I cant wait to return next time we are in Taos. More...

He explained the food with a passion and enthusiasm that made us want to order every single thing on menu. We restrained ourselves and landed on the guacamole made tableside, the house-made chili salsa, and the Chile En Nogada. Everything blew our minds. The scratch-made tortilla chips were so light and fresh. They were so downright perfect that I wanted to marry them. This was one of the few establishments we visited in Taos that had A/C.  The weather was very hot during the week we were there and coming from Texas where we are spoiled by air conditioning and ready for some cool air on our fifth day in the heat.  We weren't expecting it to have A/C when we walked in.  It's about one block from the Plaza.  We found the service to be excellent and the food well above average.  Perhaps it was the A/C but I don't think so.  That was simply a bonus.  We were very pleased with our experience at this restaurant.
