Found this little gem on our anniversary, was very busy but worth the wait. The waitress made some recommendations and they were awesome. I had the Boursin Steak with loaded bake potato and side salad. I also had the pain killer and the drink called dangerous waters and WOW it's dangerous alright, lol. The atmosphere I loved, the food was average, our server was poor. She couldn't have been more bothered by our presence. She never introduced herself so I can't tell you her name. Wish I could give this remodeled restaurant at least one star but my experience has not been great the last few times eating here. So no.. not even worthy of one star . I literally had to select one star just to post this review. I went with my young son and husband on a Wednesday was around 5pm. I asked for a booth and a highchair. I was told high chairs couldn't fit next to the booths.... LIES!! We ALWAYS had a high chair before, at the booths near the deck side of the restaurant.. so not sure what the problem was in getting one but was then told a booster seat might work and we could try it out to see if my kid fit into it....I waited for the hostess who I was having this conversation with, to bring one back. Five minutes later I was told my table was ready...not my booth... I was lead to what I call "the family section," with other families... (Seems like the place is cut off with a not so obvious or "made clear," to the guests, " family section,") where everyone with kids goes, towards the back of the restaurant, near the bathrooms and all the single people without kids get the better part of the restaurant inside near the deck. Take a look around the next time you go and notice no children on that side of the restaurant anymore. None. So whatever. I took the table after a long day at work and being hungry wanting to eat. I Sat down.. high chair was disgusting, and sticky. Scraps of Food were on the floor under our table From the last people.nit a ton but definitely noticeable. I ordered the steak tips medium rare. They came out all burned on the outside.. a nasty ass charcoal burn with crunch and red in the middle. RED... That's not medium rare. The pieces of steak were like leather and the meat was chewy, so CHEWY to where I was spitting it out in my napkin because I couldn't even get it down. I didn't know Steak tips meant you were getting the worst pieces of chewy, fatty meat. I've had the steak tips before and they were NEVER like this.. they weren't even cut up like a human could eat them. They were long nasty pieces hanging by a thread, much like what a dog would eat, much like dog scraps. That's literally what my steak tips looked like. The boursin cheese was thick and old... Thicker than gravy and dry like it had been sitting in the back under a heat lamp for half the day. The loaded baked potato I ordered was horrible. It had about five small scallions in it and five small pieces of bacon with about a teaspoon of boursin cheese. That's not how a loaded baked potato is supposed to be. Awful. The best part of the meal was the fried mushrooms...as usual. Our server was a larger woman, cold personality, and acted like she really could care less and wanted us in and out. What I wonder is how could a server even bring out the food she brought out to us so carelessly and not even pay attention to how awful it was? is it that hard to care even a little about the food you serve to customers ? The bathrooms were dirty and needed cleaning as well. I saw no manager while I was there.. no one made any kind of manager presence on the floor. What happened to this place ? It used to be so good and now there's not even effort put into presentation, cleanliness, or even the quality of the food. It's a complete rip off. Forget the remodel, guys.. don't let it fool you. It might appear nice because of a very overdue remodel, but there's no standards in this establishment whatsoever when it comes to EVERYTHING And what happened to the food on the menu? Everytime I turn around another popular item is GONE. What happened to the crab sandwiches or the perch sandwiches that were so loved and so popular ? There's no variety on the menu anymore AT ALL. Boring. We won't be going back to this hellhole again. Save yourself the trouble and don't even bother going. You'd get a better meal at a buffet with sneeze guards and more than likely, even a better steak. Thanks but no thanks. More...

I recommend them for food but not for catering. They catered our wedding and we had so many complaints about how rude the wait staff was and how unprofessional everybody was from the time they arrived at the venue. We didn't get what we paid for and when we asked about it they were very rude and said it wasn't available due to covid. It was available a few weeks before when we met with the coordinator and were never told otherwise. Our package included cake cutting and when we asked to have our 3 tier cake cut before our smaller cakes we got attitude and they cut our smaller cakes first. They wanted to take napkins and forks before people got cake, and then tried to charge our guests $5 for people who wanted to hang on to them till they got cake. We were very disappointed because we love going to the restaurant so we're really bummed with the service and professionalism from them. More...

This place is a primo first class act!! We ate there during Tulip Fest and they were jam packed. We had about a 45-minute wait for a table and once we were seated and had placed our order, our food never appeared. However, our waitress appeared several times to tell us that she was still waiting on our order and they were terribly backed up in the kitchen. We told her we understood and it was not a problem. When the food finally did arrive, it was worth the wait. The fried perch was the best you will find anywhere, as were the fish tacos. As we were eating our meal the manager came over to our table and told us she was not going to charge us for the meal because they failed to meet their own standards and thanked us for being such patient customers. Arrived before our party so my wife and I sat at the bar. I asked how their Bloody Mary's were and was told their mixer was made in house and had a bit of a "zip". It had less zip and flavor than plain tomato juice (not even sure how that's possible). Bar tender blamed it on my choice of spirits, clearly she doesn't understand vodka or Bloody Mary's. It was also clear she didn't care about anyone at the bar but 3 people she clearly knew. My father ordered the most expensive steak they had for his birthday, the Delmonico. It was paper thin and overcooked. Waitress brought another out which was also paper thin. Very disappointing for a $33 steak. Atmosphere is nice and the waitress was on her game and did an outstanding job. We are unlikely to return, decent atmosphere and a good waitress don't make up for poor quality products coming to your table. More...

My husband and I went for drinks and appetizers. Hubby had a Maker's Mark Manhattan and I had a Strawberry Mule. Both drinks were DELICIOUS! We ended up splitting a perch dinner with fries and Beechwood's amazing breaded mushrooms! I can't say enough about those mushrooms!! Horrible place!! A couple of our family members went early to get seating for 10, as we know that’s a large group. They said they could seat us at one big table. When the rest of us got there they tried to seat us at a table that did not fit us. The manager came out, and she was very rude and condescending ,very unprofessional, and did not want to seat us somewhere where we could all fit. After a total of an hour of waiting to get a table that did not seat all of us she did not care to help and she made it abundantly clear. I have never been treated so badly at any establishment in my life. We ended up walking out as they could not seat us all together as they promised. How that lady is in management is beyond me. Had my family from all over the state in town to have a nice dinner, picked here. showed up early because we had a group of 10 and I know it takes longer to seat big groups. waited near an hour to be sat at a table....for 9, where they wanted to seat 2 people on one end of the long table (where my tiny 2 youngest northers could not even fit together). After being told we would have arrangements to sit all 10 of us together. Needless to say we left. The manager was extremely rude and condescending. It's simple, don't tell guests you can seat 10 people all together when you in fact cannot. And then to have an attitude because of YOUR mistake. 🤦🏻‍♀️ How someone like that is in a position of management is beyond me, she was extremely rude. More...

I was surprised by the unprofessionalism of the staff when they could not serve my family after saying they could. I have experience managing multi-million dollar projects… and if the manager there worked for me I would fire her. I do not know how she got a job where she represents a company in the customer service industry and is allowed to treat customers so piss-poorly, she should be fired! If you want to be treated with respect go to James street inn, or sandy point beach house, those restaurants hire professionals. (Very rude, childish, and utterly disrespectful.) More...
