Pace and team arrived on time and prepared for my wedding day. They ensured each of my bridesmaids and myself looked great. There was great attention to detail and speed by all. We did not run late at all which is extremely common according to my photographer and the team was able to handle a variety of skin tones. Pace worked diligently to help me achieve my look! Pace Huang is absolutely wonderful and talented hair and make-up artist! I'd recommend emailing her ahead of time or bringing many sample photos of picture you like and do not like in preparation for any session. If you have gotten your hair and make-up professional done beforehand, I'd also make sure to send her those copies as well. Pace is so calm and listens very well to any feedback and adjusts accordingly.I had booked a hair & make-up trial to be done the same day as our engagement photoshoot. I ended up having some feedback notes for Pace after looking back on the photos from our engagement shoot and Pace adjusted and did all recommended changes perfectly on the wedding day. For the actual wedding day, I had Pace and her assistant (Sooyeon) do hair and make-up for myself, several bridesmaids, and the mothers. Pace and Sooyeon worked quickly and efficiently and they were able to get the whole group that I wanted ready only 5 minutes a little later than our expected end time. This was a huge win to me still because I've been in and have been to weddings where hair and make-up ends up half an hour to an hour later than it should have taken. Timeliness and efficiency was so important to me since our morning schedule was extremely tight. I also booked Pace for an 8 hour package, which was so worth it. I had two hair style changes (one up-do for my hanbok and a half-down hair-do for my western white dress). Pace was also there to touch me up heavily after our letter reading and first look (I'd highly recommend a longer package if you know you're a cryer... because I definitely needed it). Pace is wonderful and I am honored that I could have her and her talented eye on my big day! I originally booked Pace back in 2020 to do some bridesmaids' hair and makeup for my wedding. But because of the pandemic, we had to adjust our original wedding plans and couldn't have Pace on anymore. In 2022, my husband and I decided to finally hold our in-person wedding celebration. I had followed Pace (on IG @beautybypace) in the years between and loved the beautiful looks she created! I knew I had to have her do my bridal look for our wedding celebration. Her aesthetic is fresh and natural and that's exactly what I was hoping for and that's exactly what she delivered! Pace was communicative throughout the whole process. In our email exchanges beforehand she was professional and asked all the right questions and gathered all the information to put together a lovely look - she even had some ideas for my hair that I hadn't thought of. On the day of, she was timely and prepared. I especially appreciated her calm demeanor because I was feeling quite overwhelmed on the morning of the big day - it turned out to be a nice way to start my morning! Pace saved my wedding day. My previous makeup artist came down with COVID and Pace was able to step in. She was incredibly responsive and detailed. She was able to fit me in and came to the house. She captured exactly what I wanted with little prep and references. She is detailed oriented and makes sure everything is perfect. It was very nice to work with Pace and her team. She helps you create a look based on your inspiration pictures. I had a trial with her and bought the beautiest package from her. Her team arrived on time to help us me, 4 bridesmaids and mother in law get our hair and make up done. Everyone seemed happy with their hair and make up. Pace helped touch up my husband and made his hair look great. She helped me cover up some blemishes and fixed my hair when it fell out. She touched me up before our tea ceremony. She touched me up again before the actual ceremony and secured my veil and helped me bustle my gown for the cocktail hour. Pace was amazing to work with!I had an 8am start on my wedding day in SF, and she was not only on time, but efficient in her set up in our hotel room. For both me and my maid of honor, it took around 4.5-5 hours.I went with a more glam/dramatic/natural look with half up/down hairdo. Pace did the hair and makeup for myself and my mother on my wedding day, and we are so happy she did. She is incredibly talented, knowing how to pull off the perfect balance of natural and glam. She was able to make a look that looked both great in person and in photos.She is very accommodating and was able to do the hair and makeup trial at my home, as I was unable to make it to her studio. She was able to create a look from the reference photos I gave her and pretty much got it perfect in the first try. She is very knowledgeable and knew colors that suited me better than I did. She also gave me suggestions on skin care that helped a lot to make my makeup last better on the day of.On the day of, she was very professional, arriving on time and staying on schedule. She also provided a touch up kit, but I didn't end up needing it because the makeup lasted so well throughout the day. If you're seeking an elegant and romantic look for your wedding day, I highly recommend Pace! Her pricing is on par with other hair & makeup artists in the Bay Area, but what sets her apart is the natural look she is able to achieve, especially on Asian features.I reached out to her 9 months before my wedding date and was able to schedule a trial for 5 months before my wedding. She takes the trial very seriously to ensure you are completely satisfied. I happened to take my engagement photos the day of the trial and provided feedback on what I would like done differently to my hair - day of wedding look turned out even better than the trial and beyond what I expected! Make sure to communicate clearly if your hair doesn't hold curls well, or any skin conditions, so she can ensure your look will last all day. Her little touch-ups on my mom was the boost of confidence my mother needed; she received so many compliments on my wedding day! Pace also brought along a friend to do my 2 bridesmaids' hair and makeup, which I highly recommend booking through Pace, so you all will have a consistent look.Pace is extremely responsive through email/text and is always on time/early! Pace is such a talented, kind, and receptive makeup and hair artist!!! I typically don't wear much makeup, so it was important to me that the makeup was minimal, neutral, and clean. From the trial, Pace was attentive to my requests and delivered better than I imagined on the wedding day. She checks in throughout the process to make sure you are happy with what you see. Pace is an absolutely talented artist. She did my hair and makeup for both my SF City hall civil ceremony and my larger 100-person wedding. She has also done hair and makeup for two other of my girl friends at their weddings too!She did a natural looking makeup style which I loved and she's great with hair styles too. She has a soft, light touch that made me feel comfortable getting make up put on me. The makeup lasted until the evening both times. Pace is quick to respond to emails and very easy to work with. I sent her some photos of the make up style and hair I wanted and she had no issues doing them. My original wedding HMUA had to cancel on me three months out from my wedding. Beauty By Pace was recommended to me by a friend so I reached out right away via her website. Pace replied to me within 24 hours and was able to set up a phone consultation with me the next weekend. She was very responsive, forthcoming about her prices, and I booked her immediately after the consultation. In the end, I'm so glad I was able to have Beauty By Pace do my wedding hair and makeup!Pace is very meticulous, attentive, and detail-oriented in her work. She took care at each stage of the hair and makeup process. She did a wonderful job and absolutely delivered on the vibe I wanted for my hair and makeup. She took feedback well and checked in multiple times during the process to make sure I was happy at different stages. I loved my hairstyle, which was half-up, half-down with twists and little bunches of baby's breath weaved in. I loved my makeup even more--a natural glam look that made me feel beautiful while still myself. I booked Sooyeon to do my hair and makeup for my wedding. I was so happy with her and would definitely recommend her to anyone. We did a full trial and she really took the time to figure out what would work best for me and listened to what I wanted. Leading up to the wedding she was very communicative and always responded quickly. She was very meticulous and I was happy with the end result. My hair and makeup also lasted all day which was great since I didn't have time to even check if it needed to be touched up. My first time to have my HMU done in the US, was scouring Google for the best "korean look" make up artists then chanced upon Pace's IG account. Booked her months ahead of my wedding and voila! Pace is so lovely to work with. She is so detail oriented and wants my opinion on every step of the make up process; making sure that I like what the outcome will be. Pace was amazing and a master of her craft. My friend put me in contact with her a few weeks before the big day and it was fortunate that Pace was available that day. We exchanged some emails and I sent a few pictures of the makeup and hairstyle I wanted to go for.We had a very early morning start (0530). She arrived early and was able to start on the dot. She did hair first for me. She brought some red hair accessories (you can rent them from her- just let her know) since I did not have anything that could pair with the qun kwa and qipao. The pieces were pretty. The hairstyle she gave me felt very secured and looked super pretty.I don't normally wear make-up. So I really loved her style which is very natural. She shaped my eyebrows and I have to say that my eyebrows have never looked this good! She did a traditional Chinese make-up look with a bright red lip for me which the MIL and all the aunties loved.Pace is calm, flexible and very detailed. Pace is the best makeup and hair artist ever! She accommodated our needs with no complaints as bridal party changed the makeup theme last minute AND more importantly everybody was super happy because it was more beautiful than we expected! !! She also was on time and calm throughout the whole time when things were hectic- the bridesmaids shifted orders and one cousin showed up late etc. she and her team are the perfect for any weddings. I didn't have time for a trial beforehand, but I was able to send her pictures and discuss what I wanted, and I loved how my hair and makeup turned out.
