What’s your interior design process?
Design ideas are inspired by the light, the space, the style of everything around. The feelings we experience in nature, whether we see a small beautiful gem of a flower, a swath of surprisingly beautiful colors in a desert scene, or a bold towering mountain, are feelings we can enjoy in our homes and patio spaces. Because of this, the design process starts in your space - where the finished design will show up at its best. After we meet in that space, I create a design to meet your needs, and bring that back for your review and decision. All of the samples are viewed in the room you are decorating, so you can see the real color, texture, feeling, in the environment where it will be installed. Clients say this is the best way they have shopped for home design, because it eliminates the waste of going store to store to store comparing colors, and makes sure that there are no unfortunate surprises when the real color shows up in the room!
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
I love designing for a feeling - and feelings can be evoked in any design style. Calm can be traditional, contemporary, or modern. Invigorating can be mid-century, organic, cottage chic. Welcoming can be urban industrial or modern farmhouse. I have lived in several historic Phoenix homes, as well as Arcadia, Chandler and Ahwahtukee homes, and what I've experienced is that style can change, but the elements of design that create a feeling of harmony are consistent.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have spent years helping others achieve their dreams at work, and now I love making that more personal and helping them achieve dreams for their homes.
Why should our clients choose you?
My darling pets enhance the style in my home and influence my choices through the use of pet-friendly (and child-friendly) fabrics and flooring. Cuervo (great dane), Diesel (chihuahua-beagle), and Dewars (orange kitten), add hygge, liveliness, and warmth to my home and push my creativity to weave everyday necessity into beautiful design.
