The Ahi Poke was absolutely delicious, probably the best we have ever had and we order a lot of Poke' I think it is the bed of crunch they put underneath that gives it that little something extra. We tried to get in their other properties but they were booked..we were told about this one and thought it must be a great place because of the sister propetties. .. It did not disappoint...Old 2 story classic beach front motel with totally updated accommodations...GREAT SHEETS...COMFY BED...SPOTLESS BATHROOM...KEURIG COFFEE POT WITH COFFEE PODS... clean perfect little gem...staff was very friendly....loved having The Rusty Nail Bar attached with property...Got to listen and dance to a great 6 Piece R & B band ...and then walk home...Definetly would recommend More...

Good bar with a great view and a number of TV's.  Beer slection is solid, but every time I come here I rack up a tab haha.  Service is hit or miss.  I've had to wait far too long for beers (upwards of 20 minutes), but other times it has been okay. More...

Been coming to Cape May for 21 years. First time here. Fabulous!! Have a dear puppy with us and they are dog friendly. Definitely found a home away from home.

We had a lovely first visit to Cape May in big part to the Beach Shack. We were pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. Our room was clean and updated. We requested a first floor room, ended up near the pool which was perfect. We could pop back to the room whenever needed. The kids could run to the bathroom while we relaxed on the chairs. There are no elevators. Highly recommend staying on the first floor if you can. The staff was friendly enough. We didn't really have a ton of questions / needs thus didn't interact with them much. The beach is right across the street. The Beach Shack provides chairs and umbrellas free of charge (we ended up tipping for the convenience of it all). We ordered food from the Rusty Nail and it was delivered. ||||The Rusty Nail couldn't be more convenient (right across the parking lot). Fun atmosphere, food is solid (not spectacular, but for the convenience you couldn't beat it). Good for groups. Allow pets. Live music some nights. Never bothered our bedtimes / never heard music from our room.||||The biggest upgrade I'd suggest the Beach Shack invest in is their pool. It's fine - kids had a blast - but it could be updated for sure. It's essentially a hole with water, nothing special. Kids didn't care or notice.||||Beach Shack is a short walk (by NYC standards) or a quick bike or car ride to Washington Street Mall. We LOVED the restaurant George's. Went to the Mad Batter but wasn't worth the wait in my opinion. Super cute and quirky inside but food was fine, in my opinion. We also liked the Blue Pig.||||All in all we had a great trip - family friendly - would stay at the beach shack or consider one of the other properties (Congress Hall was sold out when we went or Sandpiper). If the pool was updated staying here would be a no-brainer. More...

We finally made a romantic birthday weekend to Cape May and we chose the Beach Shack. The location is right across the street from the beach and within walking distance to just about everything, including Washington Street Mall. We chose this time of year as mid summer at this hotel is a 3 night minimum and we just didn't have that time. I highly recommend a first floor if you can get that, as I wasn't thinking, our room was on the 3rd floor and with upcoming knee surgery, the steps were a bit much for me. I was pleasantly surprised that October is a beautiful time of year as there were also many monarch butterflies around and the sunrises and sunsets are just as beautiful.. My wife and I were on a beach walk with our dog and wanted to get some brunch on the boardwalk.  We stopped at Sandy's Beach Shack and we got a seat on the patio, because they're dog friendly!  They greeted us with joy and we had very attentive service.  The drinks came quick and the view is unmatched!  We ordered the French toast and they put the fruit on the side for us.  It was fresh and fluffy and everything you want in French toast.  The breakfast burrito followed accompanied by potato hash.  It was very good with the peppers and the chorizo!!  The dog menu is great, they offer chicken w/ kibble or ground beef w/kibble, Molly was given a bowl of water with her meal and she was the star with the staff!  Liz and Julie made us feel at home and treated us like family! This is our fourth trip to the beach shack hotel in Cape May New Jersey , and we love it ! The location is amazing and the rooms are bright and cheery and very comfortable and clean ! The rusty nail restaurant and bar is amazing , so much fun there’s always entertainment . Everyone is so happy and nice and bury a comedy ! I think the overall atmosphere and the recent remodel are top notch. The service was great. My only dissatisfaction was so much disposable plastic at a beach side resort!
