If you are looking for a yummy BBQ joint to go to, stop by Smoke Wagon BBQ in East Peoria (where the old Sonic was) I met the owner Henry and his son a few weeks ago in the New Twist as they recently moved over to the EP Area. He introduced himself as the owner of this place. I told him I would definitely check it out as I’m a huge BBQ fan (honestly, whom isn’t?) Mom and I went and check it out via Drive Thru, sat in the car and ate (Thank You Covid) Let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious! So delicious that we drove back around to order more to take home. We shared the 2 platter combo, 2 choices of meat, & 2 sides for 15.99. Pictured we got Brisket, Ribs and 2 sides of Baked Beans and their BBQ sauces and Corn Bread. The food was hot and the rib meat literally fell off the bone, the seasoning was on point and the corn bread was so soft that it tasted almost like a soft cake. His daughter was working, she was so friendly! We will be back definitely!! They are now open Thur-Sunday 11-8. Please check them out! You will Not be disappointed! More...

order my food at 3pm and got there at 515pm and I got there and they where out of my food I ordered and its wasn't even ready to go. I had to re order different food and wasn't happy people where getting the same food I order and they said they had just ordered or they called like at 430 or 5ish. Some of the worst BBQ I have ever had. Not quite sure what this cut of meat they call brisket is but it's not brisket... . pulled pork has absolutely no taste to it and it's so dry I could actually break it. Meat is awesome. Mac and cheese has no cheese and isn't worth the money. Potato salad tastes like pure pickle juice. Cole slaw was pretty darn good. Â All in all I gave them a 4 star for the bbq which was excellent but they really need to step up their game on the sides to stay in business. More...

I don't review many places because unless it's terrific or not so much as most places would be the same. However for BBQ Smokewagon I feel the need to support a great local BBQ joint and I'm sharing them on FB which I never do. Ribs are great, my boy loved the pulled pork, and the brisket is pull apart tender.
