Definitely wanted something the same from the other night, but in a completely different town! Place was easy to find. The interior not was what I expected, but I did order takeout. Greeter was kind. I ordered the Lamb vindaloo, rice and naan. The rice had the key essence of cinnamon, saffaron, garlic stem. Perfect! The vindaloo balance of meat to sauce ratio was spot on and plentiful. Worst experience at Bawarchi Tampa today. Reached the restaurant at 7:00 pm, placed order for starters and and food right-away. Even after waiting for 30mins, when there is no sign of food we asked the waiter for our starters, and got the most unexpected answer- ‘Actually, the chefs are new and are busy preparing the takeaway orders’. As if the people sitting in their restaurant have no better work than to sit and wait patiently for their “Super hygienic food”. And then after 40mins they bring the one part of the 4 main course dishes. Instead of the starters. Still, we the party of 4 preferred to share and start with atleast whatever we got. Then after 10 mins they bring us Chole-Bhature and excitedly when we started to eat, one of us observes a Chicken/ Beef piece in our VEGETERIAN CHOLE BHATURE. On calling the waiter and complaining for it, he again tells us the same ‘Chefs are new’. How does that matter whether they are new If they don’t know being an Indian what is veg. Was here during a busy Sunday lunch hours, the staff was very pleasing and promptly took care of our order, waiter was very helpful with his suggestions and he gave us fair idea of serving portions which I feel was a great job ( 3 of us dine in and we ordered 2 biriyani and one appetizer, and still took some leftovers home ) and Quality of the food speaks for itself. Went here for dinner last night based on a recommendation from some Indian friends. We had the Indo-Chinese entrees and a spicy chicken appetizer. We ordered Indian Coffee with milk, and it came in two separate metal cups. You can add more milk to your coffee but I drank just by itself because it was really great. Both of us had lamb dishes. The meat was so tender and the sauce was to die for. We seek inspiration from our own families back in India, the taste ,flavors ,spice and everything about our colorful Indian cuisine, that drove us to open Bawarchi in Tampa.
