I met the owner Gino and his assistant Luz at Battaglia several months ago. They were both extremely patient with me and gave excellent counsel in choosing the proper size to work with my drawing.
Construction dragged on for several months, so the slab ended up having to be stored much longer than I had anticipated. I expected a storage fee to be added to the purchase but was very pleasantly surprised - no charge for storage. :D

What inspired you to start your own business?
Gino Battaglia has been working with stones since he was 16 yrs old. He was in Art School in Italy, and have lived in South America before migrating to the US. He founded his business in 1969, and has one of the best and widest selection of natural stones one can find in the South Bay area. With 2 acres of land dedicated to rows and rows of granite, marble, quartzite, travertine, garden art, statues, fireplaces, fountains, etc., this is a one-stop shop. You won't have to far to get what you need. It's all right here. Come and visit, have some espresso!
