Basilico is a charming and flavorful restaurant with a great atmosphere and variety of menu options. It is the kind of place where it is fun to ask the chef to surprise you. The food is all amazing. Freshly made pasta, beef, seafood, lamb, pork, and much more! The favorites in our party were seafood risotto, salmon, filet mignon, and lasagna. Cooked in old style Italy ways, the authenticity is scrumptious. The restaurant is small, but there is a bar area if you are looking for drinks and small plates. Definitely reserve a table to ensure seating. Save room for dessert and try them all! They have a wonderful gluten free menu and vegan menu and offer gluten free bread. Dietary needs can be accommodated because each order is given personal attention. Most nights the owner is there making hospitality so home-like and generous. I can't recommend this place highly enough. I have eaten there twice and I have no idea why it hasn't been a lot more. The staff was very friendly. The food was amazing, the tomato bisque was probably the tastiest soup I have ever had. This place is actually a bargain. You get authentic high end delicious Italian food without first having to fork over hundreds on airline tickets to Rome. We have been to Basilico half a dozen times or more and each time it's been an amazing experience. This time we did the Discover Basilico 4 course experience. We had a full meal for leftovers tomorrow and the food was amazing! It gave us an opportunity to try 3 appetizers, 3 pastas, 2 entrees and 3 desserts. I've been wanting to come to Basilico Ristorante for quite some time but rarely eat dinner out in Olympia. Boy, am I glad I had an early morning work commitment that prevented me from fleeing to Seattle or Tacoma! I haven't eaten gluten free pasta in a restaurant ever. How sad is that?!? I have finally found a place where I want to eat g-free pasta out! We had a reservation for seven and were taken to a sweet table all ready for us to occupy. The server was very attentive and helpful providing recommendations. The wine list is superb! What an excellent selection of Italian wines!The appetizer... I've found a new way to prepare a caprese salad. The tomatoes were roasted, making them super sweet... a perfect balance to the nutty oil and salty mozzarella. We added a little balsamic vinegar to it and it was truly to die for, eat it every day!I had the g-free gnocchi with the wild boar sauce (ragu). My date had the lamb ravioli and while he loved it, he loved mine more and ate a good bit of it! Absolutely delicious! I can't wait to come back to try more of their gluten free dishes! More...

Nice place serving fresh homemade pastas. Reservations are recommended. Very good service from a responsive and knowledgeable staff. Attaire appears to be " come as you are." Great selection of wines, some craft beers, and many cocktails. Hard wood seats and a noisy environment detract from the overall experience. We just returned from our anniversary dinner, and couldn't have been happier! We each had a drink, shared the eggplant parmesan appetizer, and each had a primi pasta entree. Mine was the pasta with ground pork & mushrooms in cream sauce, and my husband had the wild boar with pasta dish. We agreed that mine was the superior of the two dishes, but each had a unique and delicious sauce. We also each ordered a dessert, which were enjoyable but didn't necessarily blow us away. The ambiance and service were excellent. The restaurant is small enough that it feels quaint and cozy. I love the old time look of the bar area. Highly recommend for a special occasion dinner. Definitely pricey though, so be prepared to spend $20-30 per entree, plus cost of drinks, etc. More...

It was the most wonderful dining experience I have ever had. The food was so amazing; flavors truly mouth watering delights. Everything was done to profection. The pasta was hand crafted, freshly prepared, cooked perfectly. Steaks melting in your mouth tender. I wish all dinning establishments provided service as well as they did. Without a doubt, coming from a metropolitan area, NYNY with the best food, this is the greatest restaurant in the Oly area! They take such care of their food, people and space.
