We were very busy and decided to try Fork&Spoon rather than cook. We chose our sandwiches and I also got the vegan chili . We went with takeout. We came home and were very pleased with the food! Amazing food. We are traveling from New York. Wish this was a place near us! I'd be there all of the time. Had the BLT Panini and it was so so good. Their bakery items looked incredible. Only surprise was the small chip bags. They have a very green feel to the restaurant, including using mix and match plates, and separate bins for food waste. This small cafe had a unique decor with a number of vintage bicycles hanging from the ceilings. Beyond the bikes the space was very basic. The good thing is that the food was very good. The menu has a nice array of options with a fair number of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free selections. I ordered one of the day's specials which was a chicken salad croissant. Initially I was told it wasn't available because they were out of croissants, but another staff member overheard and advised the person taking my order that fresh croissants had just come out. The croissant was indeed nice, fresh, warm, and flaky. My sandwich was excellent although it was a little messy. I didn't partake, but they had a decent selection of desserts. The large chocolate chip cookies looked really good. I'll have to try one next time I am in the area. The service was good and the food was up quick. Definitely worth a try. More...

We were visiting University of Maine from the Portland area and very happy to find this place with vegan options. I had the Sante Fe (vegan) Chik'n salad. It was delicious! Exceptional. That is what our food and service was during our recent week long family celebration of my husband and my 50th wedding anniversary in Maine. We were a group of 20 ages 5-70 and there wasn’t one person who didn’t love Elizabeth’s food. She provided 3 lunches and 5 dinners for us though out the week. Elizabeth gave us an original taste of Maine with each fresh, flavorful, delicious and creative meal she provided. There are not word for how wonderful Elizabeth and her extra pair of hands, Hannah, were to work with. We struck gold, Elizabeth loves what she does and it shows. I was spending the weekend visiting my niece and nephew in Dedham, Maine and one of the places we decided to go was to the Antique Emporium. Yes, I understand, I am writing a review for The Fork and Spoon, but stay with me for a bit longer and it will become clear. So, my wife and I had been walking thought out the Emporium and we were starving. With that in mind and while we waited for our family members we checked outside for any establishment that sold something, anything to eat. There was a buritto place a couple of doors down and The Fork and Spoon across the street. Not really in the mood for Mexican we decided to go to The Fork and Spoon. As we entered the door we noticed a warm family feeling atmosphere. The place offered sandwiches, soups, salads and deserts. My wife noticed immediately that the chocolate chip cookie jar was missing. Upon further investigation she discovered the empty jar behind the counter also noticing a fresh pan of cookies and we knew exactly what we wanted. The cookie was delicious! Oh yay for a vegan food place ! It's the only place I know of in Bangor with quite a few vegan options. They make their own cashew milk, which is awesome. Their pastries are pretty tasty.
