We can't recommend Dan highly enough!  We adopted a large, anxious, energetic, destructive pooch that meant well but just didn't know or follow "the rules".  He kept us awake at night and was difficult to control while walking outside, especially around other dogs or wildlife.  It turns out we needed help to clarify those rules and needed some training ourselves.Beginning with our first meeting, Dan has been punctual and communicative.  It was immediately clear that Dan is knowledgeable and caring when it comes to furry friends and humans alike.  Dan spent plenty of time with all of us to understand the household and personalities.  He explained to us the way dogs think and communicate, so that we were set up for success.  Dan worked with our guy for just a few minutes and quickly got him into the relaxed "green zone".  It was an impressive and promising transformation to witness, especially outdoors with so many distractions.  Dan provided us written material and instructions to refer to, which I appreciate.  He ensured we had ample hands-on practice during our session so that we could properly perform our daily homework.  Commitment and consistency is key.We are two sessions in, and our guy has been more calm and attentive than I thought would be possible.  It's so nice to walk the dog instead of him walking me.  I no longer have to avoid the neighbors on our walks.Dan has been very responsive to our updates and any questions or concerns we have.  Dan's detailed guidance has quickly resulted in a harmonious household with a well-behaved dog, and is so very worth the investment!  We are so thankful! Brandon is fantastic! My pomsky who is just over a year old has been having issues with peeing in the house, jumping on my cats, nipping, anxiety, and losing his mind when he sees another dog on the street. We researched many places and decided to go with Bark Busters. We couldn't be happier with Bark Busters. We set up our appointment and met Brandon. It was amazing the amount of knowledge he gave us the first day before training with our dog. Brandon is knowledgeable, professional, dependable and patient with our lack of skills with our dog. When training began, we saw how much of an impact his skills had on the behavior almost immediately. Brandon showed us techniques we would not of thought of on our own and saw the positive impact on our dog. We love how Bark Busters are available by phone ALWAYS for our needs and are more than willing to do follow up visits to assist in training or answer a simple question. If you are reading this looking for help with your dog I would tell you yes and call them to see for yourself. The price may seem like a lot but when you think about the lifetime commitment they make to your dog it is worth every penny. Just setting up a handful of trainings with other companies would cost just as much. Thank you Brandon for being there for us when we need it. More...

Bark Busters Home Dog Training was the first trainer I hired for my Golden Retriever Bodi. At the time, he was a newly rescued big, obnoxious 10-month-old puppy who jumped on people, dug out under fences, and didn't listen. Leigh Ann came and assessed Bodi, and in just a couple of sessions, she helped him be the amazing dog he is today! Though I had fostered before, he was my first dog. I really needed the training more than my dog did, and I learned so much from how she got Bodi to focus and take direction. It wasn't long after her training that I enrolled him in therapy dog training. He was the youngest dog at the time, and I was told because of his age, he would likely not pass the test. But he did pass, and he's been phenomenal since then. Bodi is now a certified therapy dog and service dog with 9 years of experience under his belt. He could not be a more perfect dog, and I am certain that it's because Leigh Ann of Bark Busters laid the foundation for Bodi to excel. More...

Keith is an amazing trainer! We had Keith help us with our new rescue that we adopted from a pretty rough shelter. Focus and acclimating her with our family cats were our main goals. Well, less than 24 hours after our first session, our girl is showing amazing progress. Keith has a calm, reassuring demeanor that really puts the dog at ease. He is also very good at communicating with us pet parents, giving us all the tools to make the training achievable and results stick. Our girl came out of her crate this morning and walked through the house focused on her dad, and not her kitty siblings. She is more relaxed on the leash and immediately responsive to commands. When we do need to use correction, she responds immediately and positively, showing that the training is helping to build her confidence within our family. We are beyond pleased with the results of our first session, and beyond grateful to Keith for his guidance. Can't wait to have him back to see her progress! More...

The initial cost might seem steep for some people but the unlimited training sessions within a year and unconditional support from Dan were worth it. It was the best investment I could have made with Macy. Prior to meeting Dan, Macy was a German Shepherd with separation anxiety and high prey drive. The level of focused training Macy got from Dan was impressive. It started with in-home training sessions followed by checkups and homework assignments for both the pup and human. To say I was amazed after my first appointment with Luis would be lying, because I was UTTERLY amazed!!! After my first appointment with Luis my dog, Lotus, was like a brand new pup! My sweet,  lovable, little dog had bit a few people over the course of a year and I knew I needed to do something to make him feel secure in his surroundings again and protect those who dared to enter our home.  Luis spent about two hours with me only training and talking about dog's needs and how to calmly keep them in line. With a few simple techniques we then introduced Luis to my dog.  I couldn't believe how a few tools could change our lives.  I once again feel confident when someone enters my home that Lous listen to me.  Luis also helped me to get his barking under control and door boundaries.  I couldn't be happier with my training and Luis is South Florida's "Caesar" only better because he is incredibly accessible.  After leaving my dog with a friend for 10 days while I was away for business I noticed he was not listening as well as when we were practicing before i left.  I called Luis for a refresher and he was at my place within the week to remind me of the fundamentals.  To top it off, Luis is the most gentle and genuine trainer and I can't thank him enough for so good with animals!! First off, anyone to say this is a SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, is sadly mistaken. Although their  fee of $1000 does seem scary at first glance, once all the benefits are explained, it appears to be a no brained. Bark busters will charge you a ONE TIME fee of $1000 to train your fur baby for LIFE. I adopted a cockapoo puppy who had SEVERE separation anxiety and Randy helped me to understand where my puppy's anxiety was coming from and how to best help him through the struggle. Now he is the HAPPIEST he has ever been. In relation to the review who claimed that the "$300 booking fee" was a scam, that $300 goes towards the overall $1000 fee to train your baby for life. LIFE. That means that if my precious Theo were to develop another behavioral issue later in life, bark busters would come to the rescue at NO EXTRA COST, whether that be months or years later. And even if I moved out of the Reno area, I could establish myself with the next local  bark busters and pick up where I left off....AT NO COST. I have zero bad words to say about this company. Randy (I have yet to meet Kayla however I had also heard amazing things about her) has brought Theo's inner puppy out, the puppy who is loving and loyal and the sweetest boy in the world. I will be forever greatful. I could pay $600 for a training session that lasts 10 weeks with another company...but if that doesn't work, then I'm screwed out of $600 and a puppy who has the same issues that he had before. Bark busters makes a LIFETIME commitment to ensuring you and your fur baby will spend  a stress free, joy-filled life together. More...

I have had only great experiences working with Jenny. She is responsive to our needs and communicates quickly and effectively. While our dogs have minor behavioral problems compared to really aggressive dogs, we have noticed a great improvement with the techniques she has shown us. We have seen great improvements when it comes to rushing at the front door, barking at any little noise, fighting over food and toys, and especially walking on the leash. My older dog had gotten into a fight with my mom's dog over a toy as well as my friend's dog without being provoked. That was the tipping point to getting professional help. That has not happened since as we have learned the tools to intervene and prevent it as soon as we see warning signs. The techniques have also applied well to all other dog interactions we have had. Now, he can play with both of the dogs he had previous issue with without any worry. My older dog also had a horrible fear of the Roomba to the point where we couldn't use it because he would get bloody diarrhea from stress. Working with Jenny helped us relieve his stress and we can now use it with minimal fuss or concern from him. We had tried everything before that the vet had recommended (mainly putting treats on the Roomba to get a good association and trying to run it until he got used to it) and it wasn't until Jenny's help that we were able to get him calm. She has also helped us with his separation anxiety and he now walks perfectly on the leash. She has helped with general behavior training with both of our dogs. Like any type of training, consistency is key and relaxing for too long will allow them to fall back into bad habits. I found that my verbal corrections stopped working with my older dog when I was relaxing with the rest of his training. It's all correlated. With Jenny's help, training my puppy has been so much easier than I thought it would be. We have gotten her to come to us when called significantly faster than our older dog. She is not without her challenges as she is much more strong-willed than our older dog.Jenny is great. She is kind, caring to our dogs, and very educational. We really appreciate all that she has done to help us and our dogs. They are less stressed and much happier knowing where they are in the pack as are their humans.I referred Jenny to our friends whose dogs would not stop pulling on their leashes even if it would choke them. She helped them learn how to walk with slack in the leash and minimal pulling. I highly recommend her. More...

Where can I begin....well for starters we have a 6 year old pug, Duke. We moved from a different state to CA a couple of years ago. When we were back home Duke went to doggy daycare and we thought we did everything right, except for one thing he would be extremely aggressive towards strangers, so anyone entering our home if we took him on a walk, etc. Now his aggressive would be lunging, barking, doing the pug scream. I'm not sure if you've ever heard a pug scream but it's intense. So we moved out here for the weather, and what comes with the weather...more activities. We are very active, always going on walks, except we kept running into the issue of having to pick him up if we walked past anyone or hope that he would ignore the individuals passing us by. It was so bad that we tried to have friends over and he just barked the entire time and would jump up aggressively. The moment, I know everyone has the moment was when I took him on a quick walk and I was on my way home, when a lady was close by and said "Oh what a cute pug". 3...2...1 pug scream and lunging, this was right in front of our place, and a neighbor said, "I'm glad that isn't my dog". In the famous words of Bridget Jones..that was the moment. I did so much research as I didn't want to try just any trainer and traumatize Duke and go backwards. So, I found Justin when I found Justin I spoke with his assistant, and he told me that Justin could fix any issue. Honestly, I was willing to try anything, it was so stressful for Duke and he was always so protective. He's such an amazing dog, and it was so hard to tell people as he was pug screaming that he's really sweet and the best dog ever once you get to know him. So fast forward, Justin came over and we had Duke in a separate room while we met with Justin, and I honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but I wasn't expecting to see such a change in Duke in those couple of hours. Justin took Duke's behavior and taught us how to correct it in a healthy way where we are the "pack master" which is so important. We never had these tools, and I felt like I failed my dog. He is the best dog ever, and is now soooo well behaved. We go on walks, and I have conversations with people and he just stays by my side the whole time and is so quiet and well behaved. People will pet him, and he doesn't lunge, he's just chill and so sweet. He's the way he is around us, in public. We have now had people in our home since he was trained, strangers as in a handyman, etc. Duke greeted and inspected each individual aka sniff and walked away. Duke walks alongside me now on every walk, he doesn't pull ahead, it's magic. So in conclusion, I am so grateful, and if I could give Justin a million stars I would. Our lives have changed in such an amazing way! We even had my inlaws in town for a visit, and I had them walk Duke by themselves, and they passed people and Duke ignored them completely and just enjoyed the walk. Thank you Justin, we are so happy and Duke is the happiest pug ever! Cheers! More...

Justin is truly a miracle worker! If you have been told that your dog is a lost cause and/or failed at obedience classes, give Bark Busters a call! First, let me describe my dog's prior behavior. I have a 1.5 year old Belgian Malinois who was purchased on Craigslist by a previous owner and has already had 3 prior owners. He is a sweet angel at home but would become very aggressive on the leash towards other dogs or people who caught him off guard. He had broke through THREE gentle leaders from lunging at other dogs/people, jumped out of a screened bedroom window, nipped at strangers, and more. I signed Lucky up for obedience school at a reputable Obedience Club in SD and the trainer pulled me aside to ask if I really wanted this dog because he was going to be a liability and assured me he would stay skittish and aggressive because it was his personality and that I'd never be able to take him in public with friends, etc. (I believe she was trying to be helpful with her honest, professional opinion and years of experience, but luckily, she proved to be wrong- thanks to Justin ) We did not go to another training class because we had to stay so far away from the group, that I couldn't even hear what was being said. Next, Justin came to the house. Within minutes, Lucky was behaving in a way I had not seen before. He was immediately obedient to Justin's approach. Justin was patient in teaching his technique (although it is very easy) and answering every question I had about Lucky's list of behaviors. He even offered to Skype if I had any questions/needs when I move to Nebraska this winter. As soon as Justin left, I put my skills to the test and Lucky is a whole new dog!! I could never dream of how calm he is on the leash! It is amazing. As a dog parent, it will melt your heart to see your previously-stressed dog at ease. I would highly, highly recommend Bark Busters and Justin to any struggling dog owner. Your dog will thank you!! (Pics for cuteness) More...

Scheduling an appointment and working with Justin was the BEST investment I could have ever made in my two rescue dogs. In just two hours, Justin completely changed the dynamic in my household, and showed me how to be the pack leader of my two dogs who were consistently showing aggressive and reactive behaviors. I had been feeling extremely hopeless for a long time and would rarely ever take my dogs out of the house for fear that they would cause a problem. After the first session with Justin, it was as though I had completely different dogs. I have never been more excited about my life with my two rescues. I look forward to our daily walks and no longer fear that the worst might happen. I had reached out to one trainer before finding Justin and Bark Busters, and this individual wanted to charge me twice as much for only six weeks of work, with no guarantee anything would be solved in this time. What really sold me about Bark Busters (and Justin) was that I have Justin's support and guidance for the life of both of my dogs. Justin is a miracle worker! We have a very fearful & protective pittie/mastiff mix, who has shown clear signs of abuse from a previous owner. Every since adopting him, he has been aggressive towards strangers, particularly older men, and extremely leash reactive to both humans & dogs. He would also bark & swarm the door anytime someone knocked on it. It is safe to say taking him on walks, prior to our first training session, was extremely stressful for both us, and our boy Kane, who is nothing but a massive sweetheart with people he knows & trusts. We have also had to be extremely careful introducing him to new people, which we have tried to avoid most of the time. We are providing this review after just ONE training session...we can't express how amazed we are with the progress that was made in just 2-2.5 hours. Our pup is no longer pulling on the leash, his leash reactivity has significantly diminished, and he is responding immediately to everything we do with him. He is clearly so much calmer and less stressed out, and so are we! Justin definitely knows how to "speak dog"; it's like magic! On top of that, Justin does an amazing job explaining the training techniques thoroughly & affectively. He is super personable and easy to communicate with. Additionally, he is super easy to reach over the phone - checks in with us and is there for us for any questions/help. We have to admit, we were super skeptically going into this...it's a lot of money to provide at one time, and the reviews honestly seemed too good to be true. Jeri is working with our goofy, excitable 1 year old golden retriever Doug.  We called Jeri because Doug's rambunctious behaviors included jumping up on counters and people, pulling on his leash during walks and getting into everything, particularly the new baby toys.  Sitting down and discussing these behaviors and how to effectively correct them was a great start.  By the end of the first visit, our crazy pup was exhausted in a good way.  Walks are now more relaxing even when we bring the stroller along.  Jeri is very helpful with any follow up questions we have.  Our days with Doug are getting easier a lot more enjoyable for all!  We would highly recommend Jeri to anyone looking to improve their best friend's behaviors! Cody is PHENOMENAL! I was anxious to start training, as I did not know what to expect, but he made everyone present during the first session feel at ease and confident with every activity. He spent 3 hours with us and truly showed how much he cares about my dog and his success with this training. It has been almost a week since his visit and my dog is still responding very well and I can see a huge difference already. Bark Busters provides all the necessary materials for a successful and easy training process. I highly recommend Cody for any dog training need! More...

Justin did such a great job with our two Border Collies, Harvey and Nagini. He treated them as if they were his own.Our dogs had a habit of pulling on the leash during walks, lunging at cars/bikes/motorcycles, and nipping at people among a few other behavior issues. We were worried that they would either get hurt or hurt someone else. Both dogs warmed up to Justin quickly and took the training well. Justin uses training that doesn't cause any pain to the dog which we loved. We were worried that the dogs would forget what they learned the following day but we were surprised that they both did an amazing job on their walk in the morning. No pulling or lunging at cars. We are still amazed that there is such a HUGE difference in their behavior from only one training session. Justin taught us how to tell if they are in their green, yellow or red zone and how to correct them if they get out of the green zone. The training we need to do with the dogs on a daily basis has been easy and effective. He also made sure to correct us if we weren't doing something right with the training. Justin checked up on the progress the following day and has made himself available whenever we need help or have any questions. In addition, he provided us with step by step guidelines to make sure we continue to be successful in our training. We are excited to continue to see the progress of Harvey and Nagini. If you're looking for someone that knows what they are doing and will help correct behaviors that will last a lifetime, reach out to Justin. Thank you, Justin for you all your help with our babies. More...

My husband and I recently adopted an 11 year old Papillon named Malibu. She is a wonderful little dog. However, she came with a few behavioral issues that I wanted to address for her safety. I was so happy to have found Lori with Bark Busters of Austin! Lori was amazing with teaching my husband and I to learn how to speak "dog"!! Malibu totally got it! She is now much calmer and not trying to be the pack leader for us. She knows not to run out the door when we open it until she is invited. She also remains calm when someone comes to the front door. I was really impressed with how Lori taught me to "speak" and communicate with Malibu on our walks so she knows to stay calm and not get aggressive when she sees another person and/or dog approaching. The Bark Busters method is simply amazing and effective. We have proof with Malibu that it can work on any age dog even in a new environment!! Thank you Lori for all your time to educate and teach us the correct way to communicate with our dog. We will keep in touch with how Malibu is doing. Another great thing about Bark Busters! You can call them if you need help for the life of the dog!! Malibu thanks you too:O More...

I hired Sharon to get behavioral training for both Baloo and I. Baloo is my almost year old English bulldog/Sharpei mix pup. I'm totally not exaggerating when I say this, but just within 10-15 mins of assertive training Baloo made so much improvement on his leash aggressive behavior and his dominant tug-o-war "play". Sharon is absolutely amazing when it comes to understanding dog language. Sharon's lovely attitude and vast knowledge is worth every single dollar! Sharon, thank you! Looking forward to working with you for a lifetime! More...

Wow! What an incredible experience! We tried the puppy classes and practicing at home but never really saw any improvement. I'm still astonished at the immediate improvement our puppy made in just the first training. Keith was wonderful at explaining what to expect, what to do, and answered any questions we had along the way. He helped us work on jumping, barking, biting, and pulling on the leash (a real big concern of ours). I can't even put into words how much of a relief it is knowing we are beginning to live happier, less-stressful lives (my fiancé and I, and our puppy) all just by learning how to communicate with our pup! We cannot recommend Bark Busters and Keith enough. So if you're considering it, but aren't sure if it's going to work, I BEG you to give Keith a call and watch your world begin to change positively, in just a few hours. You will not regret it! Maureen has been wonderful to work with & I have seen such a transformation in my dog’s behavior since she started working with him. My dog absolutely adores her, it’s amazing to see him interact with her. He even goes to the door looking for her when she leaves. You can always tell when a person truly enjoys what they do, and it’s evident that Maureen loves her job and loves dogs. If you’re looking for someone who is professional, kind & that can correct your dog’s behavior- I would recommend Maureen at Bark Buster’s to you. More...

Our nine year Yorkie is the size of a miniature poodle, but he thinks he's much bigger and responsible for keeping us alerted to every little sound or voice around us. My wife was fed up with his constant barking. And when we tried to walk him, he thought he was the lead dog on the Iditarod trail. When I scheduled Scott to come help us, she thought I was crazy and wasting our money on an untrainable dog.No one believes me when I say that in 45 minutes, Scott taught us how to communicate with Napoleon and show him we lead the pack, not him.  Within two days our family and neighbors were asking if we had been training him to not bark.  They noticed the dramatic change in his behavior. Plus, he is a real pleasure to take for a walk now.  Now my wife thinks I'm not so crazy and it was definitely worth the cost. More...
