Trying to find a good restaurant that also offers vegetarian options for my friend while we travel the state for work can be a challenge and Bare Roots Farmacy aced it tonight! Such a great place in a historic building in Downtown Columbus. Varied menu with great options for the both of us. They also have the best grits I have ever had which was unexpected! Bad service - verging on rude. When we stood to switch tables because our party was smaller than we thought, we just got weird stares from about 5 members of the staff. No one came over and said “Can I help you?” No one takes ownership-everything is someone else’s job. I had to go to the far counter and request another table where I was met with another unwelcoming face that said “What!?” Grits tasted like water - and they left out the cheese. I had to request the cheese that menu said it came with - cheese did not help flavor. You have to stir your coffee with a fork - no spoon for you! Had to get our own menus and silverware ( minus the spoons - maybe they don’t have any?). Place didn’t have it together. No thanks. More...

I went to Bare Roots with the idea that the food would be good as I had heard from a number of people that such was the case. However, I was not prepared for the food to be DELICIOUS and so tasty. I got the baked sweet potato with chicken, etc., and it was so good, and I had to have a muffin and a glass (which was kept full) of their homemade lemonade.
