I just completed our first visit, and I could not be more thrilled! Most of the local groomers do an adequate job on my dogs, but it's my Minature Schnauzer is that I am overly particular about, and to be honest, I've never been 100% satisfied with the results. I saw  that Barber Bark had opened recently, so I thought I'd give them a chance to make my schnauzer look like a show girl, which they absolutely did! Her cut was not choppy nor were there any clipper burns, which to me are absolutely unnecessary and a deal-breaker. I am so happy, and more importantly, the dogs are happy! They are very good with our incredibly fluffy cat and they are able to tame her enough to throughly and gently shave her furry butt. Very happy with these peeps!

Took my two dogs Rooster and Heidi. They both came out looking good and happy. The owner listened to what we wanted and is very easy to work with. Will come back !

Iris from Barber Bark is by far the best dog groomer we've had. We have brought our 2 miniature dachshunds here several times already and our dogs and us have always come out happy and satisfied. Excellent customer service and most importantly amazing grooming skills!!! More...

I love this place. I used to go to petsmart. Then I happen to walk pass this place as I was walking Callie and decided to give it a try - this became Callie's permanent grooming spot. The groomers are very nice. Callie is very sensitive about her nails and face and they handled her sensitivity very very well and with care. She smells amazing after her appointment for at least 1.5 weeks! Whatever shampoo they use is the best I ever smelled. The location is very clean inside and her hair trim is always exactly how I want it. They are great! Callie is 11-12 pounds, maltipoo, and her full dog groom is about $65 not including tip for anyone wondering - well worth the price! Booking an appointment is easy and convenient to do online. I have visited several grooming shops in the surrounding area and was less then impressed. I could not find one comparable to the previous groomer I used before. I am head over heals impressed with the work from Barber Bark. I just happen to be passing by and figured I'd give them a try. They have matched my expected standard! Torri comes out smelling, feeling and looking fresh.  There is no pungent odor greeting me at the door. Customer service is wonderful and my first appointment I was able to set up via text. Dog approved! My boy, Leo, was a little nervous ever since he had a bad grooming experience at Petco, Dublin. This place is only 15 mins from my place in San Ramon and I'm so happy I gave it a shot! Right away I noticed how clean and spacious the salon is. There's an area to shop for cute pet clothing and the other half is the salon. The girl at the counter was really nice and knew what to ask, making me feel more confident. When I picked up my boy, he was so clean and cute!! And best of all, he wasn't afraid or trying to run out of the shop. He came out happy, tail wagging and curiously looked through the store. His reaction told me, this is our new groomer! More...

Found this spot by driving by and I'm so glad we decided to give it a try. The owner is also who does the grooming. She is so sweet and did an incredible job on my pup. Most grooming salons take anywhere from 3-4 hours. She was done in under 2! It's been over a week since we got her groomed and she still smells amazing. The regular grooming is fairly priced and if you want any additions like special shampoo, nail grinding, etc it's added on but still reasonably priced! First time customers get a small discount as well. If you're looking for a good groomer in the Castro Valley area this is the spot! Can't wait to bring my pup back for her summer haircut! More...

Had been taking my Izzy somewhere else for a few years,but they had cut one ear short & left the other long(weren't supposed to cut them at all). And only made me feel responsible,so needless to say I was looking for somewhere else,which is scary for me. I brought her here,I pretty much had a calm feeling shortly after speaking with the lady doing the grooming (I think the owner,I forgot her name). When my daughter & I picked her up we we're actually giddy!! She was so cute,the cut was the best!! She looked like a live teddy bear,and she was acting very happy. I'm taking her back for sure. I am so impressed with this grooming salon. First impression when dropping off is that it was super clean and the staff was so friendly. Fion helped us from schedule to departure and I can't praise her enough. Our 110 lb GSD was so anxious and loud the whole time and she was so cheerful still and patient with him and reassured me not to feel guilty that he was so loud. I walked into the salon to pick up and they hadn't noticed I walk in, but she was hugging and petting my Belgian puppy while she was drying her cause she was nervous too. They TRULY care! Also- the quality of their work was amazing. I'm super picky about my Golden's haircut and she looks so great. And all of my dogs are so soft and not shedding! I drove all the way here from San Jose after searching through many dog groomers on Yelp. Barber Bark stood out to me the most because their grooming is more Japanese oriented, which is hard to find in the Bay Area. This place did not disappoint at all! It was worth the drive (36 Miles)! I am so glad I chose this place to groom my old man (6.5lb, 8y/o Pomeranian)! Awesome points about my experience here: - fast and friendly responses via yelp- super cute accessories available- small, clean and organized space (bigger places and more animals tend to stress my little one out)- great customer service- did a wonderful job on my dog's haircut! I was late to my appointment and she still took the time to listen to my wants, as well as took her time with him. My dog already started to act nervous and was crawling all over me, but as soon as I handed him over, he calmed down and I felt relieved knowing he'd be in good hands. She explained everything thoroughly on their services. & I couldn't help myself in buying accessories for my dog. I really needed my dogs nails trimmed only. She's practically hairless, a rescue Greyhuahua, but grows really long nails and makes it so hard on me to cut them. I was worried I'd need to pay hand over foot for a nail trim and schedule an appointment, but nope! Just walked in and I held her (tight) while her nails were cut. I don't normally leave reviews, but my goodness. I have the most nervous and anxious Border Collie McNab mix. After his bath and nail grind he was so happy and pretty. His fluffiness is back and his nails are short and soft no sharp edges. I totally recommend them. They were extremely nice and took their time with both my dogs and the result was outstanding. So happy we found Barber Bark! The owner is wonderful and friendly, she was nice and did an excellent job! My baby always got scared when I left her at other grooming shops, I felt so sorry to her and it was very hard for me. So I was surprised when she got groomed here she looks great and HAPPY(:D)!!
