Barb will cheat you out of your money. She's friendly until you pay upfront and then she becomes personally abusive and you and your dog are so miserable you don't want to go back.
But, alas, she has tricked you out of your money and you won't be refunded. Her MO is keep you from ever returning so she can run off with your hard earned funds.
She is a conman and a thief.

Very professional and straight to the point. If you are going in to find a new friend who will tell you what you want to hear, then she is not for you. But if you want someone who will tell you bluntly what needs to be done and how to best go about it then she is your go to. She aims to find out the issue with your dog and figure out how to best train or correct their behavior. Barb is amazing! Her training methods work if you put the work into it. My 8 month old rescue had little to know socialization. Barb is amazing! I am so happy to have found her over 4 years ago when I rescued my puppy. I picked up my now 4 year old girl on a Saturday, and was in class that Thursday. Barb has helped her (and me) through a very difficult fear period. This dog, with Barb’s guidance, now has 3 AKC Trick Titles and is going to be competing in Agility trials in the Fall! I couldn’t ask for a better dog, or teacher! Barb is always available if you have questions or need help. A few months ago I rescued another puppy and immediately brought him to Barb. He is excelling under her tutelage. Her methods work!!! You do have to do the “homework” and practice to be successful, as in anything in life. There is a saying written on the whiteboard in class, “Every handler gets the dog they train”. It couldn’t be more true. I've trained three dogs - two puppies and a rescue with Barb over the last 16 years. The positive reinforcement training methods that she teaches work! The lessons provided an excellent foundation to take and continue working with my dogs - while in class and beyond. All three dogs successfully completed puppy kindergarten, basic obedience and canine goods citizenship. One dog received her AKC good citizenship title and went on to complete advanced obedience training. My dogs always looked forward to class time and thrived in the positive reinforcement environment. It's also a great way to build a solid relationship with your dog while having fun. Having been a long-time student of Barb's, I've seen the evolution of the training methods. “Rude, unprofessional, negative, fraud, crook, arrogant, offensive, belittling, insulting, bully, awful, threatening, mean, nasty, shady, pressuring, abusive, obnoxious, combative, intimidating, humiliating, thief, horrible, harassing, hustler, demoralizing, and traumatizing .
. . “ These are some of the words used to describe this woman on a half dozen review sites. Do yourself a favor and check these out. And you’ll note that the 5-star ratings are suspicious at best.
During an initial consultation for $90, my wife and I fell to the pressure tactics of Ms. Levenson and signed up for six private sessions. Ms. Levenson’s troubling behavior was just as iterated here by so many. And so, concerned we checked online reviews on her, her business practices and her training program and after our vet would not prescribe the two drugs for our dog that were to be key elements of her program, we tried to cancel the very next day.
Apparently, per the signed contract and receipt which we were not given a copy of, no refunds are issued, this despite no services having been rendered and having paid for the initial consultation. This will teach us to read the fine print and online reviews in the future. A truly decent person would have credited our account. As a result, we are out $500. I strongly encourage everyone to think twice, long and hard before getting involved with this woman. Read the passionate negative reviews here:

I have trained 5 German Shepherd dogs with Barb over a period of 25 years. My most recent puppy has struggled with dog sensitivity. Barb has spent so much time coming up with a specialized training program that has yielded great results. We just had a great class... I had a happy, bright-eyed, working pup... something we could not achieve before. I am so thrilled! It was lots of work but well worth it. The best decision I ever made for my dog was taking her here! I adopted my border collie/aussie mix from the shelter and she came with some anxiety and dog reactivity problems. I took her to another dog training facility to help her work through her issues, and they ended up making her more anxious because they didn't use only positive reinforcement with her! Barb, Maggie, and Stephanie have been excellent to us and we have made improvements by leaps and bounds. I cannot recommend Barb and her methods enough! More...

Barb has helped me train both of my dogs. I am happy with her approach and the response from my dogs. Barb is direct and expects people in her class to train 5-7 minutes twice a day. She will not train your dog for you. She will teach you how to train your dog. More...

Barb and her staff are amazing. The classes are great and you learn a ton, but having Barb as a Q&A expert for all the little things that pop up with a dog as they grow is invaluable. We went through a basic class with our 8-year-old Cairn Terrier and are currently in puppy class with our Bernese Mountain Dog. We were skeptical that taking an 8-year-old dog to a basic obedience class. We were unsure if you can “teach an old dog new tricks.” Well…you can. Not only is our dog better behaved but we were able to train her (through positive reinforcement and no corrections) to not be aggressive and snap/bite when taking something of value from her mouth. Barb and her staff are also excellent with our puppy. They are all experienced dog trainers and genuinely care about making your dog the best it can be. We constantly receive comments about how well behaved our 4 month old Berner is. It did not come easy but through hard work and the skills that we learned from Barb. Can Barb be hard on your for not doing your homework? YesIs Barb opinionated about her method of training? YesTo me – none of this matters…. what matters most is the dog you get when you graduate from her classes…. if you follow her methods and put in the work – it is all worth it in the end. Nothing in life comes easy, and working with a puppy can be very overwhelming but if you stick with it, you will be one happy dog owner for the long haul. Thank you Barb! More...
