Pros: the bagels themselves are quite good. Cons: they have no non-dairy cream cheese, which is very strange given that they literally specialize in bagels. (Newsflash -- vegans like cream cheese too, we don't just eat hummus all the time, and a lot of people out there are just lactose intolerant.) Also the vegano sandwich we got was soaking wet. If you are local or are traveling though Ventura county, you must come and eat here. Everything here is freshly made (aside from certain items like cheese) and taste absolutely delicious! Customer service was definitely one of the reasons why I had a great first time experience here. I will be back soon and with more company to join me. Went here for the first time today! My nephew and I went here on a whim while waiting to go into the dr office next door. I got a breakfast sandwich bacon egg and cheese on an everything five cheese bagel . He got a crazy turkey sandwich on a five cheese bagel. Both sandwiches were made quickly, and fresh. This is my first ever review because I've never had an experience worth documenting. I called this morning to place an order of 2 Crazy Turkeys and the man who answered insisted in offering me eggs and sausages, despite never asking for that. After clarifying that I wanted 2 Crazy Turkeys, he stated he did not have the time because he had 3 people in line and suggested I just place my order when I get there. Of course I did not go. Worst experience ever. I don't understand how this place has such high ratings with that type of customer service. The owner was the one who got our bagels for us. He is super friendly and accommodating. I like my bagels toasted medium brown and he asked after he toasted them if it was to my liking. I can't say enough good stuff about this place. My bagel was crunchy on the outside and so soft in the middle. We got a few other bagels to take home and they were all just as amazing. My 3 friends and I were staying in Ventura for a few days and happened to find this place while looking for a late breakfast our first day there. We ended up going back every day of our stay because not only are the bagels some of the best I've ever had, the people running the place were so kind and friendly. Great bagels, takeout snafu leaves a bad taste in your mouth. We were traveling through Ventura and decided to order breakfast through Yelp. We ordered bagels and bagel sandwiches and were back on the road in no time. A little later we opened our bags and found that two people would not have a bagel because they shorted us on the order. When I saw the rainbow bagel I knew I had to come try this place. Nice people and great customer service. During this pandemic they are following safety procedures very well. My 1st time going there, had a great experience. We were welcomed upon arrival amd offered fresh bagels he was pulling out of oven for us to take a look at. I always check Yelp when going to places but something about this bagel joint made want to go in and I'm glad I did. The gentleman working today (07/21/20 @ 2:30 PM) was so sweet and was making conversation. I got the chicken club with a jalapeño cheese bagel and a chocolate croissant. He was talking to me while making my sandwich and made it so fast and everything was delicious. The bagel tasted freshly made and all the desserts and pastries looked yummy. I can't wait to go back! Bagelicious is exactly what I look for in a coffee shop. Great service, great food, great drinks. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Bagelicious, at least when I came in on a Monday morning, was a one man show, and what a one man show it was. This guy was everywhere, doing everything, and he did so with a smile on his face that lifted all five of us who were in line at the shop. Kind and efficient - what more can you ask for?Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost?$7.95 got me a big ole bagel sandwich, and and extra $2.99 one of the better if not best cinnamon rolls that I've had in some time. Best bagels in town! If they are out of a bagel you desire from their wonderful menu...they will make it while you wait! No joke! Don't know if it's the whole COVID situation going on, but my business felt unappreciated, don't know what it was to be quite honest. It make me excited to try it out considering all the reviews that rant and rave about the service. The bagels were decent and reminiscent of another place I've been to. A bit pricey they also charge over $1 for plain cream cheese. I gave it three stars because I don't know if I went at the wrong time, but the service left more to be desired. When I walked in, I wasn't greeted and after I paid the guy left my bagels on the counter and never came back finish the transaction or to give me my receipt, so I pushed text receipt on the pay pad. This place is great! I went twice in three days partly because the food is delicious but mostly because the main gentleman working there is so incredibly friendly. After ringing me up for my breakfast sandwich (egg, cheddar, and avocado on an everything bagel) and iced coffee, he asked me what kind of sweet/pastry I would like, free of charge! They have many different sweets in addition to their bagels such as cookies, brownies, muffins, and even baklava. I ended up getting a vanilla macaron which was so tasty. They also have lunch sandwiches and lots of coffee/drink options.
