What do you love most about your job?
My company tagline is "Helping to build paradise, One backyard at a time" and I actually get to do that and, get paid for it . I am most stress free in life when I have ear buds in and am creating a waterfall. In addition I work for wonderful people and it is simply awesome to change their world. To still get random phone calls and emails years later telling me how happy they are is something I can't describe.
What inspired you to start your own business?
During 15 years in the computer industry I used landscaping as a personal stress relief . In 2001 I reassessed the direction of the computer service industry and, what would make me happy in the long run and, started Backyard Tropicals . I was able to combine my love for managing business operations with my landscaping passion.

Sure I love to create what I would love at my own home but nothing is more satisfying than creating something that is not to my personal tastes that fulfills my customers vision.
