Went here by chance because Fishermans Wharf closed at 8pm.   What a pleasant surprise!   Both the food and service were simply outstanding.   Got the Stuffed Red Snapper with sweet potato casserole and they were awesome in flavor and presentation.    This place is part of the Sun Bay hotel and a ways off Central but worth the trip.   Highly recommend! Went here with a large group of colleagues, so we sat in the back room. The a/c was not working. It was about 84 degrees in there.  I was really looking forward to eating here, because some buddies had told me how good the bone in ribeye was. That's what I ordered. Back Porch Grill is a wonderful choice if you're looking for steak.  However, a look at their menu will see that they have way more to offer than just steaks. Great place. First time I went off season and I wasn't over excited. Everyone kept telling me to try it again. Now we go three times a week. Amazing STEAKS. Great stuffed mushrooms. Shrimp is great. Cajun sauce add on is great. They cook right on a grill in the same room as you. Our steaks are always cooked to the perfect temperature . Cheese dip with shrimp and steak is great as well. Took a large party here for dinner in July on our visit to HS. Back Porch staff helped us out as we had to move up our dinner time 1 hr - they found us a spot - thanks for the help. Our waiter, Earnie, was fantastic. We dined on everything from fried shrimp, filets, etc... everything was fantastic. The special this evening was the "American Pharoah". Got there the right when they opened, four o'clock, and had the patio to ourselves. Excellent waiter, perfect tenderloin, a little pricey, but hey, it's a great steak and those are not cheap. I had the most amazing snow crab ever! My family ordered the steaks and jumbo shrimp which they said was all amazing but a bit small in quantity esp the "jumbo" shrimp which were 6 small pieces of shrimp. Be ware of the price of what you are ordering, this is not a cheap place to eat! Loved this place!  Went with the entire family to celebrate Birthdays. Our eldest suggested eating here as he had been once previously for business. Everything was delicious, crawfish bisque, bone in filet and ribeye, lobster, mushrooms, asparagus, twice baked potato casserole, crab and bacon mac and cheese. Yes, our table had all of these and dessert! I can honestly say, there was barely a bite left in the table. Service was excellent, wait was short for our large party ( they do not take reservations on weekends). Loved the interior, although it was loud and crowded. We were not rushed or crowded by others. Went there for a nice romantic dinner with my wife for her birthday. We sat on the patio and enjoyed stuffed mushrooms, grilled chicken breasts, salads, sautéed veggies, 3 wines, 2 Kentucky mules,  and a slice of cheesecake all while being served by the sweetest, most friendly, and efficient waitress I believe we have ever had, Morgan. My wife and I loved having her this afternoon for this special occasion while we watched the sunset from the back porch! All is forgiven with Back Porch... For apps, we had the fried avacados. They are unique and worth trying.  If you order steak, I recommend the ribeye 12 oz.  There is a cowboy cut but the ribeye has better flavor.  Try the wine and cheese house dressing - also unique but worth it.  Seasoned vegetables were also very good.  I had my steak grilled to a perfect Pittsburgh... I had never had it before and it is probably the only way I will have it from now on. It's a medium rare with a little crispness and crunch.We went on a Sunday night.  There is a change of hours for the race season so call and check if you're unsure.  The locals I talked to throughout the day did not have good things to say so something has happened.  However, it does have the best steaks for Hot Springs and even with our last crappy night there, we want again. Why? The steaks.  Suffer through the other issues if any present and enjoy the beef.Jeff was our server and righted all wrongs from the last adventure there.  No surprise up charges this time.  He got a big fat tip, too!!! We had a great dinner here Saturday evening. I had the garlic Parmesan shrimp with a baked potato and salad. It was absolutely delicious!  My husband order the special and it looked pretty good also.  Don't forget the dessert. We liked this place! Sat outside on the back porch and it was a nice view. The mojito was not impressive.. Mostly juice. The mushroom appetizer was delicious! Salad was kind of plain, but you can't expect much from a house salad. We had the cowboy cut steak, which was very good and cooked well. We also had the braised short rib ravioli.. The flavor was really good but portion was small. I had to have some of my husband's steak to feel more satisfied, since I was still hungry. We also had dessert (snickers pie), which was really more of a cheesecake that they poured some chocolate syrup and pecans on.. Not that good. The staff is really friendly and our waiter was awesome. Staff was nice opening 45 min early allowing a few beverages.  Huge props, staff not really trained in fine dining serving, but its a relaxed place none the less. Had the in-bone tenderloin $44 (about 12-14 oz.) and 6oz. filet $29. Both came with choice of potato and a salad.      Ordered the house special blue Hawaiian $8 and pink ribbon $8. 50. Service was fast and accurate. The sunset view over a arm of Lake Hamilton was the best of any bar/restaurant in the area. (Others face east not west!) Both tender steaks seasoned perfectly. My husband got the Orange roughy it had an amazing flavor the ranch dressing is really good and homemade I got grilled shrimp with Leon butter sauce it was amazing the service is excellent barely got my drink and he brought me another one he was very friendly and helpful we each got a mixed drink they were both really good highly recommend it his kind of hidden away but well worth it
