If you are in need of an experienced, talented book designer who cares about your work as much as you do, I highly recommend Patricia Bacall. I hired her as the book designer for two books, both with very strong sales, and I could not be more pleased with the covers and designs. She is responsive, kind, patient and willing to go the extra mile. I can't imagine bringing a book to life without her input and direction. I'm so grateful to have met her and look forward to more projects together. More...

Patricia is a great communicator, which I value highly. The job is in progress so I can't review her work. I expect it will be exactly what I want.

Patricia is first-rate all the way. I enjoyed working with her for several years, as she conceptualized and designed all printed materials. The projects were for a non-profit and she consistently made the organization look like a million bucks. She has a skillful eye, a knack for listening and communicating, and a delightful demeanor. Patricia is a gem! I highly recommend her services. More...

Hey, Barbara, thanks for the great testimonial. I was surprised and very please to see that on the Bark website. Hope all is well with you, let's talk!
Describe your creative process.
I find out what the customer has in mind or has been told what they need to produce, and get all the information I can about the company. Then, I put on my creative thinking cap and come up with a visual solution for their needs, and create comps that show the client my ideas. If the comps meet their needs, I finalize the artwork and usually send it via the internet.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
I like to know as much as possible about the company, including how they want to present themselves in the marketplace and their vision for future direction. Together we can define the scope of the work and how to best communicate their vision. I ask what their timeline is, in order to create a work plan that ensures the end product will be there when they need it to be. I learn their budget and how deliverables will be supplied, i.e.: digital files, or printed and finished brochures.
What do you love most about your job?
Finding a creative solution to a marketing challenge, and helping business owners or marketing managers make their business grow.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The challenge of combining art and business to visually communicate and influence the market.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am patient and easy to work with, supplying leading edge, creative solutions to fit the customers' needs. I respond to clients quickly and can be relied upon to provide their work in a timely manner, ever mindful of lead times and deadlines.
