Like most people will tell you, there is no way to give this experience justice with words so I will refrain from trying to go into detail about my ayahuasca journey, but I will say that my life has changed forever. Soul Quest facilitated my stay to perfection. It's an unassuming place out past Orlando, but it is the perfect setup to make everyone feel comfortable and non-judged for what they go through in these ceremonies. From the staff to the volunteers to the community that you connect to during the time you are there, it couldn't have been a better first time experience for me. If you are new to Ayahuasca, just know that you will see reviews that are talking about how amazing it is, but just know that it's not a walk in the park. It is TOUGH, but the lessons are so beautiful and more than you can possibly imagine. I'm still in awe and will definitely be back again to volunteer and also partake in a weekend ceremony again. I need to share a disappointing experience I had with Soul Quest Ayahuasca Church in Orlando. I attended a retreat in January after which I was informed someone signed me up for another retreat for the weekend of May 12 through the 14th, but the church could not tell me who registered me. I tried to discover who but could not. On April 23 I sent an email canceling the retreat indicating I had not signed up and I could not attend. I received an acknowledgement and a note I could attend a future retreat. However, on May 14 I received an email notification that I had paid $945 for the retreat that I did not attend and did not sign up for. I called the information number at Soul Quest Ayahuasca Church, leaving messages several days in a row and finally hearing back from one of the Soul Quest employees, several days later. I was told that Chris Young, the founder of Soul Quest told them to charge me; fully aware I did not attend and the person on the phone could not explain why and that Chris Young the founder would call me. Interestingly, the individual I was speaking to did not seem to agree with his decision to charge me but did it anyway. To date I have not received a call from Chris Young the founder and all calls I make are not answered and not returned. Ultimately I had to invoke fraud charges to recover my money. This means canceling my credit/debit card, along with all the hassles this requires, particularly as auto payments fail over time. If you have attended or used a credit/debit card at Soul Quest Ayahuasca Church they likely have your card information retained and they do feel free to charge it unauthorized. This seems immoral behavior to me, for anyone or business, but more so for those who are guardians of Mother Ayahuasca. It is unlikely I would return to Soul Quest Ayahuasca Church and my advice to others is to avoid them as well. More...
