This review is for their wedding services: I booked Avenue 42 early in our wedding vendor search because they had done such as awesome job with my hair and makeup as a bridesmaid. (Seriously, if you're considering them book them early because they are popular for a reason!) Chloe, Noelle and Kara absolutely crushed it. I visit Avenue 42 on a regular basis for my styling needs, so it was a no-brainer to use their team for hair and makeup for our wedding this month. But even prior to the wedding day, it takes a village! I see Maria for brows, Sydney for haircuts, Kara for lash extensions - They all are the best at what they do. This was my third time using Avenue 42 for professional hair and makeup, after our engagement photos and elopement ceremony in December. They do beautiful work and nail it every time. They do a lot of weddings, so their ability to create a perfect style based on venue, clothes, and overall description of vibe and style is really impressive. Day of, they are efficient and professional while also putting everyone at ease. I had a range of bridesmaid ages, hair lengths, and comfort with makeup, and Natalie and Jahna worked with everyone's personal styles to ensure all felt beautiful while being themselves. Krista and Leslie were absolute fantastic. I worked with Leslie few weeks before and was great to try different make up and hairs. On the wedding day they were both showed up on time in my hotel, did hair and make up for the party and were fast and professional. I couldn’t be happier. I had such a fabulous experience here. I made a last minute partial balayage appointment with Jane through their online booking after major Instagram stalking. I was able to be consulted by her the day of my appointment. She was so incredibly knowledgeable and reassuring about the process and gave me honest and helpful feedback on what I wanted done to my hair/what was achievable. However, I must say that the cherry on top of me loving her was her making me a coffee and feeding my caffeine addiction. The receptionist, Madisyn, was professional and friendly in helping me get ready for my appointment—she also moved my (dirty) car for me so I wouldn’t get towed! This was my first time visiting Avenue 42, as a friend recommended them. The front desk staff was extremely personable! I was anxious for my cut, as I cut off more than half my hair, from waist length to near shoulder to donate. Sydney was patient and beyond understanding & empathetic when I got a little worked up during the cut. She knew exactly what I needed to maintain some length without having too blunt of ends. I recently visited Ave42 to find a closer salon. I checked out their prices and IG stories beforehand and decided that they were expensive but the color/cut was worth it. After my experience, I don’t think I can explore another salon again. The team here can read a client, do exactly what the client asked for, and make them feel and look amazing. Natalie is an amazing make up artist! If you can book her for your special day- do it! Over the years I've gotten very particular about my make- up, and have never been very confident with anyone else doing it (I always end up wiping it off and re- doing). ... and then I was introduced to Natalie! Alright...not only does she listen to your vision, she can execute!! I was going to a black tie event and wanted a natural glamour look- not only did she teach me several tricks, my make up looked awesome! I loved it in pictures, I loved how beautifully it stayed on all night, and I loved how she taught be how to do it myself! I can contour now y'all! ;) thank you Natalie and Ave 42 for your skills and time! I won't hesitate to book you again!! And my spray tan!!! Dear lord while you're there get a spray tan!! I've have been going to Ave 42 since it opened, and I have always been pleased with my experiences! The receptionist is always kind and welcoming, and always greeted me with a smile. Both Noelle and Sara have cut my hair and wow! Not only are both women warm and open to talk to while I'm in the chair, but they both give great cuts. They even took a long look at my hair type, texture, etc. and recommended a style (or alterations to the requested style) that my hair would realistically support and look its best. Noelle Eastwood has been doing my hair for over 12 years! I absolutely would not trust anyone else with my hair. I have always had challenging color combinations like blond bangs with the rest brown and a blonde streak to match on the underside then changed to purple bangs with platinum blond that transitions into a lavender and deep purple ombre look. Everywhere I go ... someone tells me how much they love my hair. I love it too and thanks to Noelle for keeping locks looking so amazing. Avenue 42 was the best choice for my wedding! I looked at them after one of my best friends suggested them. After looking at their work I immediately reached out. Natalie & Heather did my hair and makeup - and they absolutely slayed! I loved my hair and makeup and got so many compliments that night. Britny, Heather, and Natalie also did the hair and makeup for my mother, sisters, and bridesmaids. They let us stay in their beautiful bridal suite which allowed us to relax until we had to head to their venue. Maria is a eyebrow genius. I have incredibly unruly brows with bald patches and she shaped and dyed the with henna to the most perfect and natural looking eyebrows! I recently had a cut and color appointment with Marissa and I am absolutely in love with the results! I brought in pictures of what I was looking for and Marissa made it happen. I told her during the coloring that I felt like a canvas where she was painting a picture because of the detail she took in ensuring that the color was perfect. I have nothing but good things to say about this place!!!First I’ll start with my girl: Sara!!! She has been doing my hair since she started there a year ago and I haven’t gone anywhere since! She asks me questions about what style I’m going for and then offers a creative spin on it. The first cut and color she gave me was last summer, where she gave me a perfect summer color and lots of layers!! The second cut she gave me was in the fall, where she gave me a modern chop and deepened my color. I’m going to see her soon and I’m so excited to see what we come up with!!Second: The studio itself and the owner! It’s a gorgeous place and the atmosphere leaves me with a smile on my face. I was fortunate enough one day to listen to Natalie, the owner, tell me about how she loves updating her studio to stay fresh! It was clear that she is very passionate about what she does, and it’s nice knowing that the OWNER encourages her artists to express themselves and have fun with their clients. I was driving from northern VA for my appointment and I was a whole hour late because of terrible traffic. I was stressed and seriously concerned that there wouldn't be time to get my hair done. But the women at Avenue 42 were super nice and just told me they'd see what they could do when I got there. I had my hair done with Megan, and I absolutely love it!!!!! She was able to cut, color, and style my hair despite how late I was. I honestly never write reviews, but I had to write one for Megan.
