Our cookie was good. I was sad they did not have hot chocolate. Seems to me the number of baked Nummies have gone down and the manufactured candies have gone up

Stopped by on my way to the airport to go back to Arizona because the web site said that they had Dutch Letters and, unfortunately, a trip to Pella wasn't in the cards for this short visit. My brother tried to tell me that if they had them, they would be $4 or $5 each. I was certain he must be mistaken, but he still lives in Iowa and I haven't for nearly twenty years, so I steeled myself for disappointment and reinforced myself with a tasty taco before I swung over. Nan's Nummies had Dutch Letters, and they were less than $3 each! I asked for half a dozen, she offered me some frozen in the back. All the better to survive the flight without my eating them all, I said!Since I mentioned the flight, she offered a nice box to pack them in. I accepted, I put them in my checked bag, nestled snugly next to my laptop. Luckily, TSA did not help themselves and I was the family hero upon my return to Arizona. Everyone loves a good Dutch Letter. Though it was never stated, the fact that she had them frozen makes me think she gets them from one of the bakeries in Pella. Good stuff, I will definitely stop by again on my next hurried trip to DSM! More...

Then salted nut rolls are very good. The cookies would benefit from a little less almond extract in the frosting. Nice selection of candies and reasonable prices.
