Met owners Michael and Lily and they were very attentive and nice. I ordered the calzone through Lily's recommendation and it was absolutely delicious! I ordered it with pineapple, pepperoni, sausage and mushroom, it was a perfect blend of cheese and tomato sauce. My sisters and I stopped by here after a hike mainly since they offer gluten free options, my sister is celiac. They have a lot of gluten free options and a ton of build your own pizza toppings. One sister and I got calzones which were SO yum and the crust tasted very fresh. My other sister got a gluten free pizza sub which she said was so good and the bread was not dense like most. The lady working was also very careful not to cross contaminate.The also had a selection of cards and games to pass time waiting for your food.Would reccomend calling ahead if you are in a hurry. Avanti Pizza is awesome! They make great tasting food and whatever bread they bake comes out perfect and not hard or dried out. But get this... their seating inside includes tables with chess and checkers on them. Also a cabinet of board games and WiFi. This place is like a coffee shop but with delicious food and drinks. More than this, I spoke to the owners and they were nice, intelligent, and authentic. Try this place out just once and you will get hooked. Wanted a nice, family-style meal for my parents' last night in town and we picked well!  We got dinner sized salads to share - I'm typically not a huge spinach fan, but it was tasty!  Topped with bacon and other goodies I had seconds.  I heard the thin crust pizza was great, but looking for a gluten-free offering, I can only speak to the deliciousness that was Italian Blues.  It should be noted that the gluten-full crowd among us fought over the gluten-free until the last slice- it was that good!  Can't wait to come back soon! This is our, hands down, favorite pizza place in the Bay Area. Not for the ambience, I always take out but for take home.  The ingredients are fresh, it's neither over or under sauced and the thin crust is perfect . This is a clean restaurant and ran by some incredibly kind people.  The owner is often there and he always helps me out with my order.  How kind is that? We love their BBQ wings, pizza and salads most but are curious about their pasta, maybe one day soon.  I overlooked this restaurant initially because of its location and outside appearance but it truly is the only pizza joint my whole family loves.  Keep the pizza coming! A nice little place for a casual date that feels special and sweet. My husband and I stopped here on our way to a concert. The ambiance was unexpectedly warm and charming for a pizza joint! Really like Avanti after tonight's pop in. Pizza is available in 4 sizes sm, med,lg, and R U Cray Cray? Also by the slice, but that is a fresh, made to order slice, not the heat and eat variety. Tables are set with gamez, unexpected nice touch. Such a quaint family business. We were the last customers of the night, and the family sat down to eat next to us after making our calzone. We were first timers, so as our monstrous calzone arrived to the table, our waitress asked if we wanted sauces. We declined, and she basically insisted...we were so glad she did. This place was/is my new go to pizza place. But I feel like I need to speak with the owners about their price and their toppings. Pizza tastes great but the bill is always too high, even with their coupons, starting to not be worth the price. Second of all, the toppings taste great, but you pay for them heftily. I recently ordered 5 pizzas with 1-6 toppings, most of the toppings costing $3.50 each. But the more toppings I ordered, the less of each I was getting. That's not ok given what they are charging for each. They'd get 5 stars otherwise, and they may lose my business if they keep skimping on the toppings when ordering pizzas with multiple toppings. My suggestion is to say, as I will next time, if I am paying for each topping, I expect to get the same amount of each even if I am ordering many, or I expect to pay much less for them. So on taste- 5 stars, price 2-3 stars, service 3-4 stars. More...

Food is excellent, ingredients are fresh and the owners are homely and good natured.  A place without fixed outdoor seating but accommodating to dog owners who enjoy outdoor dining.  If you are interested enough about astrology, you will notice a telescope in the restaurant behind the side counter and with it comes a knowledgeable and humble owner who will give you a course in the planets that is both unexpected but somehow makes already great food taste even better.  I enjoyed a glass of wine and the pasta with the yummy pesto creamy sauce, the Asian salad and a shot of espresso.  Lucky to live close to a restaurant run by a wholesome family that earns its customers with just plain goodness. As a Belmont local I've visited Avanti many times over the years. Ever since the new owners, the Ryans, the place has been completely revamped. The atmosphere is now comfortable and welcoming, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and what's best is that they still make the same quality pizza I've enjoyed for so long, can't beat that recipe. They have also added a cafe bar and a bigger TV screen that can be easily enjoyed throughout the restaurant. Im from Trenton, NJ (a pretty serious pizza town) and this is my full endorsement for Avanti's gluten free dough regardless of whether or not you're "gluten free"My fiance has Celiac disease and we both eat gluten free to reduce contamination risks. Pizza places can be dicey because of the equipment, but she hasn't gotten sick so far!Whats better is that Avanti's Gluten Free crust is among the best pizzas I have had on the west coast. O M G. Imagine two hungry people looking on Yelp with an Italian food craving while knowing full well they'd be working to the 12th hour of their day. ..My colleague and I ordered from here via delivery (Eat24), and we were really excited to try out their calzones! We ordered two calzones and one pasta as well. Calzone #1: Chicken apple sausage, pepperoni, garlic. -Apparently, it was absolutely delicious. Lots of meat and lots of garlic!(And I regret to say that we totally forgot to take more pictures! IT WAS ENORMOUS.)Calzone #2: Jalapenos, pepperoni, green bell pepper.-This was my calzone, and I'm so happy I got it. GET INTO MY BELL-AYY.They're so generous with the toppings, it's literally like they folded a loaded pizza in half and just boxed that up for us! It was definitely bigger than a personal size pizza. It had just the right amount of spicy, it was more than subtle but it wasn't fire! Fettuccine Pesto Carbonara: Holy smokes, this could feed three people! Look out for the garlic taste in the pesto though, you'll still taste it in the back of your throat for a few more hours lol. Again, they're very generous with their portions, and they topped off the pasta with chopped bacon! YUM.I CAN'T WAIT TO ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN.
