Had a fantastic dinner at Aux last night using our foraged ingredients from No Taste Like Home Foraging Tour. Chefs prepared an amazing appetizer and pasta creation that was just delicious. Thanks to the talented chefs who prepared our meal on the fly!! Phillip was a phenomenal server, attending to our every need and making great suggestions; he went out of his way to help us locate the excellent bottle of wine we enjoyed. We’re locals to Avl who rarely get a night out. Went to Aux Bar last night on a date night and were blown away by the experience. We sat at the front by the window so the people watching was good. We started with the King Cobra bottle service and a couple of the signature cocktails. You wouldn’t think that the ingredients in the Sangria would work but wow. It’s like Mariah Carey writing All I Want for Christmas instead of just covering Jingle Bells. It worked. We had the duck wings, pork rinds, and pimento cheese which were all top notch. The steak frites are the best in town, which is saying something. The pork shoulder hash was amazing but my wife ate it all before I could really dig into it. We finished with their two wonderful desserts and left completely satisfied. To top it off, the service by Carl was excellent and the music an underrated plus (the Cobra had me singing by the time dessert came). All in all a perfect date night at a place that is sure to remain an upper echelon staple in Asheville for years to come! More...

I have been to the Aux Bar on three occasions, and am always excited by their ever-changing food offerings. Have had pickled egg flights, garlic fries, foie gras, and turmeric shrimp. All have been outstandingly flavorful. The cocktails are solid and the bar offerings plentiful. My favorite thing about Aux Bar, hands-down, though, is the staff. They know their menu inside-out, no one bats an eye if you need to make a substitution, or have an item on the side, their recommendations are thoughtful, and always considered after asking you about your dining preferences - a true customer service oriented experience. They are so confident in their offerings (as they should be), that they don't even hesitate to recommend other Asheville eateries that you should also be trying. I love this place for quick snacks, great drinks, late night eats and small plates. More...

Just ridiculously well done, thoughtful, creative, innovative, adventurous, playful art. From cocktails to small plates - the menu plays on local ingredients and riffs on bites you think you know,. .but discover something new. AMAZING! We came here on a food tour & loved the smoked pork shoulder & the Cheerwine Punch was fun. We came back for dinner & tucked into the fantastic Crispy Brussels Sprouts (poached egg, shaved cheese & roasted potatoes) and the Roasted Bone Marrow and Tartare (grilled bread, whipped bone marrow & beef heart tartare). First visit to AUX and it will definitely be at the top of the rotation for recommendations from this local. Every bite was amazing. Four of us shared the beet salad (HUGE and spicy), local trout dip, double burger (!!), shrimp and scallop fritters, brussels sprouts and their version of smoked chicken n dumplins. Everything was good, but the chicken dumplins were so unique and delicious. The "bottle service" of a 40 oz of King Cobra put the whole thing over the top! Great job, AUX Bar! More...

In a town driven by tourism, Aux Bar is as locally minded as it is enticing to out of town visitors. Two household names of the Asheville food community have combined forces to create something that I believe has been missing from WNC. Enjoy an inventive, seasonally minded, finer dining experience or stuff your face with inexpensive comfort food and King Cobra bottle service. I normally wait a few months before visiting a new restaurant to give them time to work out the kinks. No need here! This isn’t their first rodeo. Everything we ordered -cocktails, apps, dinner, dessert & coffee were fantastic. The service was lovely too. (We even loved the photos on the bathroom walls.)
