Stopped in for the first time on the way home from work. Asked the man to make me whatever he recommends. I got shawarma over yellow rice with a salad. Fantastic! I’ll be back!

Overall 4.5/5, I'll just round up to 5 because there're so many promotions and they truly lower the price of food. Check-in on Yelp you get $1 off, and on app "Hooked" they have even better deals like 20% off. The price is actually cheap (considering Austin average food price) and the portion of the wrap is actually bigger than what I expected. I got the combination meat wrap, which tastes super good. It is freshly made to order and I absolutely like it. Fries are average. I had baklava for dessert. I think it's probably because I came in late afternoon and those baklava are pre-made, the filler is a bit too dry and it felt like chewing papers. Maybe if I can get a fresh made baklava or ones just made within one or two hours, they might taste better.The owner of this place is very friendly. It is very rare that I leave 5 star reviews, but this place has served me quite well over time. It is not often that I wish to return to places, simply because I know there is so many great new places waiting. However, at Habibi I know that I can have some good ethnic food at a great price. The prices aren't too bad, but with the coupons they are amazing. I use the Hooked App and there is often times either 20% of 50% off which ends up putting my meal at $5 to $8. I can't say many places can fill me up for $5, but this place has multiple times. I also like the area this place is in which is always a bonus. Not only that, but it pretty common for my group to be the only one or one of few, which I find odd because it's good food for cheap, but I won't complain. The workers are usually really cool and quick to give out free things such as extra pita or throw things in they don't have to. Also if you don't use coupon apps there is a check in to Facebook coupon that will save you some money at the front counter. Love this place! More...

A short drive away from campus but so good! I got the chicken wrap, and it left me very satisfied. It was well marinated and hot/fresh. Today I came to Austin to visit a friend and was feeling pretty famished so of course I looked on Yelp to see what eateries in the neighborhood had good ratings and a good price for lunch. So this little restaurant came up offering Middle Eastern food at a great price so I figured I'd check it out. Upon entering, there was a smiling young man named Ali behind the counter who took my order, the gyro wrap with french fries with ketchup and some other spicy (maybe) tzatziki sauce on it? The meat was well seasoned and tender, with fresh tomatoes and lettuce and onions on it all wrapped up in a warm fresh pita. He also included some hummus drizzled with olive oil and studded with chickpeas. It was wonderful! I was amazed at how much delicious food was included for a lunch under ten bucks. My friend had already had lunch so she just had the baklava. And it was delicious! So yes, I highly suggest you all visit this charming little place, no matter how out of the way it might be. This is a great lunch spot!  I was very impressed with the portion sizes.  I got the Habibi plate with gyro meat, which was very good!  The gyro meat and rice were both flavorful and well seasoned, and the sauce had a kick but was not too spicy.  It also came with a greek salad and hummus.  I'm giving it 4 stars because I didn't really like the hummus, and my plate didn't come with a means to eat it (like pita bread).  Overall, a good choice. This is our first time here. I am having the Habibi Salad with chicken and Gaby is having the Combo Wrap with Chicken and Beef. They are both really good. Ordered ahead for lunch and was able to pick up my food right away even though I was a few minutes early. The person working the register was friendly and accommodated my request for extra rice instead of salad that I put in through the app. The portion size was great for the price, including generous serving of chicken compared to the amount of rice. The chicken was pretty juicy, but not super flavorful. The white sauce was creamy, but I was surprised the hot sauce didn't register more flavor; even after I asked for extra it still only gave a mild flavor to the dish. Good food, consistent, I love coming here for lunch!The service ranges from normal to "wtf is going on".Example: I once had a cashier that looked angry? ...he never said a clear word to me. This place is hit or miss to be honest. Portions are very inconsistent. I've been here three times and the first time they gave me so much food it was insane. The food was like filled to the top... almost looked like it was going to explode. But then the next times it was like half full and more lettuce than rice or meat. They also give a lot of sauce sometimes or not a lot. They got my order wrong when I asked for no hot sauce and I almost died bc the hot sauce is pretty dang spicy. But when lulu do get lucky, the food is really good. In my opinion, better than halal guys since halal guys can be dry at times. The falafel is pretty good but I think that's hit or miss as well. If you're looking for a quick and delicious meal at a great price, or if you're just looking for a tasty but limited middle eastern/mediterranean bite - this is the place for you. Food was very good regardless of price, but it so happens that it is one of the more affordable places to eat in Austin - think Chipotle prices with mom and pop handmade from scratch quality. This is some of the best Mediterranean food in Austin, hands down! I used to eat here often when Ali had a food truck on 6th and S Lamar act the street from Whole Foods downtown. He now has a brick and mortar restaurant and I'm visiting for the first time. His food is as good as ever- I have been craving it and am so glad it has stayed consistent! Great place to eat very tasty, fresh food. The portion is large and the food is so delicious! The salad has everything it needs, lettuce, onion, tomatoes, cucumber, feta, pita. So yummy!
