After getting a call from Suraj Patel, Â I came to this place for his Birthday party. It was a privilege and a great time to be present and see him give a speech. I tried as much as I can to stay out of politics, Â but after a local politician did me and a few other people wrong, it is a need that I become involved and help those people who I know will do the right job and will not turn their back on me and the community when he gets the job. This Bar is great for parties that I can say. There is a second floor which I didn't see, it had a private event going on, so we had the back room space to party and hear the speech. Came here for a girl's night: arrived with a big smile and left with an even bigger one (not just cause of the alcohol). The staff is unbelievably friendly. Matt and Mike ran the show perfectly! We got a lot of the appetizers and every. single. one. was delicious. With every bite, I was impressed. The fried pickles and buffalo cauliflower really stood out. I think this place may have changed hands again recently? I came here last month for farewell drinks for a colleague, and everything was terrific! They were able to make space for our large-ish (12 ppl?) group in the back of the first floor, and it was nice to have a space that was semi-private. They even asked ahead of time for the name of our co-worker who was leaving and make a little sign with his name on it! I cannot express enough the pleasant experiences I've had at Atwood. I first started coming to the bar for food and drink this past winter (I believe that is when it opened), and have yet to have anything but a warm welcome and professional experience. With the bar being just a short subway trip to Hells Kitchen it is the perfect LGBTQ friendly atmosphere to enjoy a cocktail (or three) before a night of dancing! Ordered the French toast tower and it was everything I imagined it'd be. A little tower of French toast came out! The center was layered with Apple compote and berries, how much better can it get? Paired it with a Bellini and I promise you won't be disappointed. Service was awesome, the waitress came to use regularly to check up and the food came out super quickly. Great brunch spot.We were a party of six and we all really enjoyed our meals.The lobster mac and cheese, which we shared for the table, was devoured. We just recently hosted an event in the upstairs private space at The Atwood - and it was amazing. The team was so supportive, helped work to stay within our budget and were extremely professional in creating a memorable event showcasing our new brand. Can’t believe I’ve lived on the upper east side for over 7 years and have never been here before! Their food is really good! You must try the miso honey Brussel sprouts and the farm burger with goat cheese was amazing. We will def be back to try more from the menu. We ate early and that smoky cocktail is outrageous! Feel like food is secondary to bar, we ate in the corral in the back, feels like a pen for critters although waitress was sharp and informative.
