Atlanta Dog Trainer

I HIGHLY recommend using this company!!I regret ever using anyone but Susie Aga, the owner of Atlanta Dog Trainer! She is amazing! ! What a blessing it is to have her!She was a bit of a drive for me, so I interviewed a different company. This person had not only mis-diagnosed my dog’s reactivity for aggression, but she also wanted to use prong collar, e-collar, a noise spray, and a muzzle... just to walk my dog. Haha I said NO WAY!!Guess what, within in 15 minutes of our lesson at Atlanta Dog Trainer (she had worked a few times with Dominic in the previous months), she had him playing safely with another dog! No muzzle, nothing!Susie has never encouraged me to use any crazy collars. She helped to teach me how to read my dog’s body language and about his threshold levels, so I could help re-direct my dog all by myself. I have been training my dog with Susie Aga for a year now. I started with my German Shepherd puppy at 4 months old, and now he is over 1 year old. My dog, Dominic, absolutely adores and trusts her. When I go for a private lesson, I soak in every bit of info Susie teaches me. She is highly skilled as a behavioral trainer. I don’t know how Milton got so lucky to have a dedicated, passionate, and talented trainer. My dog had become fearful and reactive around other dogs. He had even started to fear people. Susie taught me how to keep a confident energy that my dog can feed of off. After a few months of work, Dominic has made improvements much quicker than I had ever imagined—just bouncy, happy, and confident!!!He now walks confidently by my side, in a heel around many dogs and people. She laughed joyfully with me when she saw his progress. I will continue to work every dog I ever have under her guidance. I had no clue what a privilege it would be to have her in the area. P.S. I have always enjoyed going to Atlanta Dog Trainer. The classes are positive and motivational for dogs and people. My dogs and I are always treated with kindness and we feel very welcome when we arrive. I know many staff members and they sincerely care for the dogs that stay with them. The owner Susie Aga is an accomplished trainer dealing with all kinds of behavior problems. She has helped me deal with a very difficult rescue dog when I really needed advice and support. I have been working with Diane over the last few weeks in getting my older dog more socialized around other dogs as well as people. Due to my work schedule it's really hard getting him a lot of interaction time. He's a huge furball that wants to love and meet everyone and doesnt always know his own size. Over the last few weeks I have seen a huge amount of improvement through her efforts to create a safe environment where he has routinely interacted with other dogs and the trainers of the facility who can help him and I create an ideal behavior that is observable outside of the training area in real life. Our very energetic and playful Siberian husky spent about a week at the Pet Resorts, and had a blast!I found them on Yelp and when I asked our vet for a boarding recommendation, they mentioned The Pet Resorts. I called to schedule my dog's "vacation." They took down all of my information and sent me an email with everything we agreed upon, including a furminator bath and groom. The staff was professional, friendly, and helpful. They also seemed very knowledgeable. I received an email and phone call reminder of our dog's stay with them.They suggested that I fill out the new customer packet prior to arriving. However, I had printer issues and was not able to. They printed it for me when I arrived and I filled it out in their spacious lobby. It was lengthy and thorough. Their nightly rate of $40 per dog is for their Standard Runs, $52 per dog for their Pet Suites. Add $5 per night per dog during Holiday periods. Half day fee for pickups after 1 PM. Pick-up and drop off anytime during their business hours.When I picked up my fur baby, he looked so good! Probably the best groom he's ever gotten. We were very impressed. They also gave me a report card that accurately described his personality.  He was definitely tired when he got home.The Pet Resorts board cats as well. They offer a pet taxi to pick up and drop off your pet for an additional charge. We will continue to use TPR for our dog's future vacations. More...

This place and people are amazing! I am a nervous dog mom and I had to leave my boy for 12 days. He has never been without me that long and never around other dogs. The whole staff catered to him and gave him lots of love. They slowly introduced him to dogs and he had a GREAT time. When I came to get him he was more interested in going to play LOL! The trainers I got to learn from were all very knowledgeable and experienced. The trainers cared about my success and confidence level. I got experience in many modern positive training methods including Clicker Training, Treat training and non food training. I started using The Pet Resorts for my dog to get his nails cut a good while back when I lived in Milton. I had tried other places and Cooper was always real nervous which made it hard for ANY groomer to handle him and get the job done. Enter Dee and Cassidy at The Pet Resorts. Two of the nicest and most accommodating groomers ever. They worked with him gently at first and now, he hops right up on the table and will even offer a paw! I moved to Decatur a year ago, but I still drive the almost 40 miles (one way) to this facility because I trust them with my dog. They do a great job cutting his nails back and are so kind to him. We love Pet Resorts-Cumming. We’ve been boarding our dog there for the last few trips and we could not be happier. Most of all, our pup is happy too! The staff, Sonya, Mimi, and all are great, and you can tell they really care about the pets they take care of. You know your dog is happy to be there when he runs toward the door when we get there and runs to the staff to be let in when we enter. After reading the wonderful reviews of this facility, I decided to give them a try. Well, my dog absolutely loved this place! My dog is a 2 yr old lab/feist mix (confirmed through DNA testing). She's the black dog shown in the photo below (photo of her playing @ this daycare facility). She's very active, playful, highly energetic, friendly, outgoing, & fearless. Any dog w/ a similar personality I highly recommend this place to! But dogs that are older, shy, very anxious, fearful, &/or reserved....I can't speak for them. More...

We boarded Samson and Klondike there over our anniversary. They took to Sonia and we have never seen Sam take to anyone immediately. When we picked them up, they were exhausted. Who were these dogs? So my almost 10 year old Doberman has been a frequent guest here. This past weekend I dropped Loki off for a long weekend (his first this year) for my wedding. The staff all knows me but the simple fact Loki was in the building - trump my wedding excitement should be a testimony to what this team holds dear. They are there to love and cuddle our fur babies. We brought our dog Bullet to stay for an entire week while we were on vacation. It was the first time the entire family was going to be away and we had never boarded Bullet before. I was nervous and not sure how to go about this. Everyone was so helpful at Atlanta Dog Trainer and after seeing the place it really put my mind at ease. It was so nice while we were in DC that we could "check" in on Bullet and see how he was getting along. I think he really enjoyed his little doggie vacation. I cannot say enough! I did Board and Train for two weeks with Elizabeth for my pup Ansley! Elizabeth was so sweet and fully explained everything that Ansley was going to learn and the exact schedule she would be on while there. While Ansley was there, I got photo updates on her almost daily. She was a rescue pup who was treated for parasites previously. While she was there the staff noted some worms in her stool. They treated her and even took her to the vet at no charge (other than the wormer). I was updated about the entire thing. For me, another bonus was the socialization my little pitbull puppy got while being there. She LOVED IT! They did behavior assessments prior due boarding which made me feel comfortable with my timid puppy. On top of all that, my pup learned all kinds of things and is so easy to deal with now! We received an hour lesson while picking her up. I know I will board her there in the future, no cages and staying indoors for this pup! Long review, but totally deserving! More...

Thank you so much Susie Aga, owner, of Atlanta Dog Trainer. We recently held a one year birthday party for our dog, Nelly, and her puppies at the facility in Alpharetta. We fostered, then adopted our Canella (Nelly) through Angels Among Us Pet Rescue a year ago. Nelly was pregnant and had 13 puppies. They and their adopter's had a ball at their first birthday party. Only place we would board our dogs ! They are both rescues from the pound and one has severe kennel/crate anxiety. The fact that they can run around and play with other dogs most of the day and not in a run makes all the difference !!

We have been taking our dogs to the Pet Resort for about six years now and wouldn't consider boarding them anywhere else. This place is great ! Malcolm, Sonja and the rest of the ADT team are wonderfully caring people who take a lot of pride in their work...and it shows. Our dogs are SO excited every time we turn down Howard Road! They know they're headed to "camp." When they return home, they are clean, happy and so very tired...and we get a report card on their visit! While pricing is not as important to me as the level of care they receive, I find the boarding prices to be very reasonable especially in light of the great service they provide. I used to feel guilty when boarding our dogs but never again. These guys are awesome and get our highest recommendation. More...

Well, Bear and Beau are Clumber Spaniels and it does take a little different angle to their grooming. I just had my Mini Schnauzer groomed here by one of their groomers, Cassidy Moore. Not only did my dog look wonderful, but he came out a happy boy. Cassidy takes her time with the dogs. She rocks. The Pet Resort - Cumming took such good care of my 2 dogs while we were away. They even gave me daily updates on how they were. My dogs are very shy and nervous and I know they took extra care with them, especially during fireworks on the 4th of July. Amazing, amazing, amazing!!! 15 years we have brought our many dogs to Malcom, Suzi, Mimi and Sonya.....still always pleased and always assured my dogs will be safe. I want to give a BIG THANKS to Dee at the Resort for doing a fantastic job grooming my 2 GSD's. There is a lot of dog there to groom. I really appreciate the effort and the results are THE BEST!!! I've used two of Atlanta Dog Trainer facilities. My dogs have always boarded up at the Pet Resort when I head out of town. You can't beat it! The prices are competitive and ALL that room to run and play outside! I chose their boarding facility after going through obedience classes at their Freemanville (sp?) location. The ENTIRE Atlanta Dog Trainer staff are so knowledgable about dog behavior I am a forever client!
